NBA Player Props: Odds, Picks, Analysis (11/9/21)

Only three games tonight but there are plenty of NBA player props to target. Search through the NBA player prop tool to compare odds across all of the markets and see what props sportsbooks are offering. Injuries and health protocols continue to pop up each day, and props may come in closer to game time. Essential injury news for tonight — Joel Embiid, Khris Middleton, and Tobias Harris are out for the 76ers-Bucks game. However, the other two games have a light injury report.

Robert Covington Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made

While we know most of the offense resides in the backcourt of Portland, Robert Covington has started to find better form. Covington is known as a three-and-D player, averaging 4.9 three-point attempts per game so far this season. This isn’t out of the norm for him, and it shouldn’t be given he is a career 36% three-point shooter. He is also shooting 43% from three so far this season.
Covington has averaged 2.1 threes per game and has had 2+ in seven of ten games this season. The Clippers defense isn’t bad, but they are middle of the road against defending the three-point line. Covington should continue to see high volume from three, and in a high-scoring matchup, I like the value here.

Bobby Portis Over 7.5 Rebounds

These teams have started off the year short-handed, but Milwaukee is getting healthier, and Bobby Portis is back in action. He has now played in each of the last four games after missing time with an injury. The plus side is the minutes have gone up each game. He finished the Washington game with 30 minutes and has had eight or more rebounds in the last three games.

Without Brook Lopez, Portis is set for 25+ minutes, and against a 76ers team that is missing key players, will have plenty of chances to rack up boards. For an honorable mention from this game, I like the steals + blocks of Giannis Antetokoumpo for over 2.5.

Trae Young Under 36.5 Total Points + Rebounds + Assists

The Hawks were blown out last night, but minutes were not cut enough for a fresh trip into Utah. This is an extremely tough back-to-back trip, and they go up against one of the best teams in the league. Trae Young, we know, is someone who can rack up stats, but he will face a Utah team that is 6th in defensive efficiency against points guards, holding them to under 30% from three and 41% from the field.

Utah also holds point guards to a league-low 6.1 assists per game. I worry for surrounding matchups for Young to rack up assists and rebounds will be tough to come by against the Jazz. There is also some blowout concern where we see Young take an extended rest in the fourth.

Jusuf Nurkic To Record a Double-Double

There is great value for Jusuf Nurkic tonight, who is averaging a double-double on the season. Nurkic has recorded 27 rebounds combined in the prior two meetings and hit a double-double in the first game, but struggled from the field in the second.

Blowouts and foul trouble make it seem like the minutes are cut for Nurkic, but he should be around 28-30 in a close matchup tonight. Rebounds will be there against a bottom-third rebounding team and he can be assertive when Zubac is on the floor.
