Patriots Odds, Picks, Predictions: Bet On New England After NFL Schedule Release?
With the 2025 NFL schedule open for business, bettors are one step closer to the start of the season. Even though a myriad of futures betting odds were available at the best sports betting sites shortly after the Eagles claimed the Lombardi Trophy, the schedule provides a useful tool in evaluating the advantages or obstacles teams may encounter throughout the campaign. With that in mind, I believe there’s value in betting on Patriots odds. Let’s explore the reasoning behind it and their betting markets.
New England Patriots: Betting Odds & Schedule
Common Misconception Around NFL Schedule Release
Strength-of-schedule projections incorporate a team’s winning percentage from last season — a backward-looking way to gauge opponents without much rationale. Referencing win totals is a more preferable alternative. However, bettors must account for potential market inflation from the 2024-25 results.
Why Bet On Patriots Odds?
Per the betting market, New England will face the third-easiest schedule overall, and no team will battle an easier slate of home opponents. At the moment, the market has the Patriots projected as favorites in all but one of their tilts at Gillette Stadium. For reference, they were the only team to be an underdog in all 17 regular-season games in 2024-25.
The Jarod Mayo era lasted just one uninspiring season, with New England finishing with four wins and marginally going under its win total of 4.5. Enter Mike Vrabel, a 14-year veteran linebacker with the Patriots who won three Super Bowl titles with the franchise. He’s also showcased his coaching pedigree with the Titans, finishing 54-45 straight up and 51-50-3 against the spread (ATS), including two playoff wins from 2018-23.
Bettors who are unafraid of the ugly underdog will fondly remember Vrabel’s tenure in Tennessee. Under his guidance, the Titans went 27-30 outright as an underdog, making him the third-most profitable coach (150 total) during the last 20 seasons. Needless to say, Vrabel is a notable upgrade over Mayo. In 2024-25, the Chargers and Commanders outperformed expectations with new coaching staffs to make the postseason.
Can Vrabel find an answer for the Pats’ offense? They averaged 17 points per game in Drake Maye’s rookie campaign, en route to tallying the sixth-fewest Expected Points Added (EPA) per play. The organization reverted to its former offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, as its play-caller. To boot, it tacked on veteran wideout Stefon Diggs, who missed much of last season with a torn ACL.
When healthy, Diggs greatly enhances New England’s receiver room, giving Maye a higher ceiling.
Defensively, the Patriots present plenty of upside, thanks to free-agent additions at nose tackle (Milton Williams), on the edge (Harold Landry III and K’Lavon Chaisson), and at cornerback (Carlton Davis III).
Over the coming months, I’ll certainly consider betting on New England to go over its win total of .
