DraftKings New Jersey NFL Week 9 Best Bet
New York Giants vs Washington Football Team
The New York Giants (1-7) are coming off of a controversial loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week when they failed to convert on a two-point conversion at the end of the game, ultimately losing 25-23. The Washington Football Team (2-5) had their bye last week. Prior to that, Washington took down the Dallas Cowboys 25-3.
New York showed last week against Tampa Bay that they still had some fight in them. Despite some questionable calls going against them all night, the Giants still almost managed to pull an upset against a team some think will win the Super Bowl this year. The defense showed us that they have improved greatly from last season and their horrendous offense even had a good game against a very tough Tampa defense.
Washington showed us two weeks just how good they can be, or just how bad Dallas really is. Like the Giants, Washington has a defense that is underrated. While they rank 17th against the run, they own the league’s best pass defense. They are fifth in total yards allowed and 11th in points allowed per game.
Both teams struggle offensively. They are both in the bottom seven of the league in total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, and points per game. However, both teams have played some tough defenses this season.
Washington is still very much in the race for the NFC East this season. A six-win team could very easily win this division and a win tonight for Washington would be huge. Coming off of a bye week, we should see a Washington team that plays this game like it’s a brand new season. Records be damned, Washington is just one game back of the Philadelphia Eagles with nine games to play.
With a turnover-prone Daniel Jones at quarterback, New York could be in for a long night against the league’s best pass defense. The Washington pass rush should also be able to put plenty of pressure on Jones and that offensive line. Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin should be in for a big game against a bad Giants’ pass defense. Washington’s defense should do enough to help their offense get a win and cover in this game. The total is just too low to feel good about betting the under.
