New Orleans Saints Vs. Arizona Cardinals Player Prop Picks

After a couple of snoozers on Thursday Night Football over the last two weeks, we have what will hopefully be a much more entertaining game in Week 7 as the Saints travel to play the Cardinals on the short week. There should be some great player prop values on the board for this game with both teams featuring high-level skill position talent, and I’m excited to break down my favorite plays. You can use the player prop search tool above to find the best odds in your market for the Saints vs. Cardinals game.

Kyler Murray Longest Completion Under 35.5 Yards (-115 DraftKings)

I was surprised to see this prop priced this highly for a couple of reasons. First off, Kyler Murray’s longest completion all season is 32 yards, and he hasn’t had a completion over 30 yards in four of his six games. To close last season, he only went over this prop in two of his last seven games. Murray has attempted 30 passes of 20+ yards this year, but he’s only completed 26.7% of them per PFF.

Marquise Brown was the recipient of 14 of those 20+ yard targets (46.6%), and now he’s out for the foreseeable future. DeAndre Hopkins returns to the lineup this week, but it will take time to shake some rust off and he only saw 15 targets of 20+ yards during the entirety of last season. His longest reception was under this listed number in eight of his ten games.

Chris Olave Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (-117 BetRivers)

The Saints made an aggressive trade to acquire Chris Olave in the draft, and he’s having an excellent rookie season. Despite catching passes from two different quarterbacks, he’s averaging 77.8 receiving yards per game. Olave also ranks fifth among all qualified wideouts in yards per route run and fourth in yards per reception.

This matchup is incredibly favorable for Olave as the Cardinals have struggled against the pass all season. PFF has them ranked 32nd in coverage and they have the 24th-ranked pass defense by DVOA. With Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry expected to be out for yet another week, look for the offense to flow through Olave.

Kyler Murray Over 33.5 Rushing Yards (-115 MGM)

After a bit of a slower start to the year in terms of running the ball, Kyler Murray is coming off a 100-yard rushing effort against the Seahawks. He took a season-high six sacks last week despite Seattle entering the game ranked 31st in sacks. The injuries have piled up along the Arizona offensive line as Rodney Hudson and Cody Ford remain out while Justin Pugh tore his ACL on Sunday.

The Saints should be able to generate interior pressure against the banged up interior offensive line, and Murray will likely be forced out of the pocket often. With James Conner, Darrell Williams, and Eno Benjamin all dealing with injuries, Murray’s rushing role could be emphasized, as well. The Arizona offense is stuck in neutral, but look for Murray to attempt to compensate with his legs.
