New York Giants vs. Los Angeles Chargers Player Props (12/12/21)
Contents
While there has been plenty of news to contemplate regarding this matchup, we’re finally at a point where we have a clear idea of who will be suiting up for each team. Keenan Allen has been ruled out after testing positive for COVID-19, while Mike Williams is expected to play despite his positive diagnosis. New York, meanwhile, will get Mike Glennon back this week following his concussion. In this article, I’ll look at the best values among player props from the Giants vs. Chargers game. You can use the player prop search tool below to find the best odds on the players in this game.
New York Giants Vs. Los Angeles Chargers Player Prop Search Tool
Mike Glennon Under 208.5 Passing Yards
The Chargers have allowed just 209.5 passing yards per game this season, the seventh-fewest in the NFL, and they rank ninth in pass-defense DVOA this year. This season, Mike Glennon has averaged just 191.5 passing yards in his two games. Theoretically, the Giants should have enough receiving talent to help Glennon get to the over on this line. Still, Kadarius Toney has already been ruled out, and Sterling Shepard and Kenny Golladay are dealing with injuries of their own. While the game script will dictate that Glennon throw the ball often this week to keep the Giants in the game, it’s hard to imagine Glennon throwing for a lot of yards this week.
Mike Williams Over 65.5 Receiving Yards
After a stretch of four games with under 60 receiving yards, Mike Williams seems to be getting back on track lately with 82 yards per game over his last three. With Keenan Allen out this week, Williams should have a more significant role in the offense. Williams is one of the best big-play receivers in the NFL when he’s at his best, and he has a catch of 45+ yards in three of his last five games. The Giants’ pass defense is decent, but Adoree’ Jackson’s injury will limit the team’s ability to play consistent coverage on Williams, and I expect him to have a big game.
Saquon Barkley Over 54.5 Rushing Yards
I had to do a double-take when I realized Saquon Barkley hasn’t run for 60 yards in a game since 2019, but injuries and inconsistent play have recently derailed the career of the former first-round pick. However, I like his chances to have a big rushing day this week against the Chargers, who allow 141.2 rushing yards per game, the second-most in the NFL. Los Angeles ranks last in the NFL in rush defense DVOA, making them a prime target for a bounce-back week for Barkley. With Toney out and Shepard and Golladay questionable, the Giants should look to make Barkley a focal point in this game.
Austin Ekeler Anytime TD Scorer
You can target Ekeler’s yardage props if you want in this matchup, but I like his touchdown prop the most. He’s scored a touchdown in nine of his twelve games this season, good for a 75% hit rate that would lead to odds of -300. You can still get Ekeler to score a touchdown at -150 on most sportsbooks, and it’s an excellent parlay piece for a player who scored four touchdowns a few weeks ago. You can bet on Ekeler to be the first TD scorer at +400, which is a decent flier, but I love Ekeler to score in this game as a near lock.
