NFL Free Agency: Odds On Where Top Players Will Land
Free agency negotiations for NFL teams can begin Monday, and free agency kicks off in full force at 4 p.m. Wednesday when those negotiated deals can be signed. Teams are eligible for spring workouts starting April 7, the NFL Draft follows at the end of the month, and rosters will be reshaped well before training camps open in July.
Below, we’re taking a look at the biggest names primed to hit free agency, which teams might sign them, and how those potential signings could affect the NFL futures market. We’ll also look at some players who could be traded during the free agency period.

Top next-team markets
Davante Adams next team
- Adams was released three weeks after the Jets parted ways with Aaron Rodgers. Oddsmakers list the Packers (+190) as the most likely team to sign Adams, but his services could make a much bigger impact for the Chargers (+450), given their lack of perimeter receiving options. The Chargers are currently getting the fifth-longest odds at +1300 to win the AFC, and signing a proven receiver to pair with Justin Herbert could shorten that number.
Aaron Rodgers next team
- Speaking of Rodgers, the 41-year-old is apparently open to staying in New York and playing for the Giants, with oddsmakers posting -150 odds on the G-Men as his next team. The Steelers (+275) could bring in Rodgers if they move on from Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Otherwise, he could look to be a bridge-year quarterback for the Raiders (+450) or Titans, or sign on to compete against a young quarterback for a starting job with the Vikings (+750) or Colts. From a futures perspective, Rodgers is unlikely to move the needle regardless of where he signs, as he posted some of the worst pocket passing metrics in the NFL and showed limited mobility last year with the Jets.
Myles Garrett next team
- While he formally asked for a trade request and held strong to that demand, Myles Garrett could still wind up in a Browns uniform, and books are listing his current team as a narrow favorite to retain his services. It could be posturing, but Browns GM Andrew Perry said it would take more than two first-round picks to acquire the former Defensive Player of the Year, so suitors might balk at that price tag. The defending champion Eagles (+220) are the favorite to swoop in for a deal, and the Commanders (+300) could also get into the mix.
Cooper Kupp next team
- Cooper Kupp’s production fell off a cliff during the second half of the season, and the Rams have announced they’re looking to deal the eight-year pro. The Broncos (+300) and Patriots (+650) are in the mix according to oddsmakers, but Kupp’s announcement indicated the franchise will work with him to get him to a contender, which is why the Lions (+550) and Chiefs (+750) are also among the favorites. Adding Kupp would move the futures markets for either of those top-tier contenders, yet it likely wouldn’t make much of an impact for a middling or rebuilding team.
Quarterback free agency primer
Sam Darnold is the biggest name expected to hit the free agent market after the quarterback had a career revival under the guidance of Kevin O’Connell. It’s possible the Vikings retain him, but oddsmakers are giving the Raiders (+350) and Giants (+450) slightly shorter odds to make Darnold a superior offer.
Both those teams were interested in Matthew Stafford before the veteran decided to return to the Rams. Now they could be looking at veteran passers like Rodgers or Wilson as a stopgap while they look to develop a franchise quarterback. If released, Kirk Cousins is another name rebuilding teams might consider as a stopgap.
From a win totals perspective, the Raiders stand to gain the most from the addition of a competent quarterback to work under veteran coach Pete Carroll.
Wide receiver free agency primer
Veterans Stefon Diggs and Amari Cooper will be available for teams looking to squeeze something out of the twilight of their respective careers. Diggs was on the decline before tearing his ACL, but he could be a prized acquisition. The Chargers (+700) and Ravens (+800) could be in the mix for Diggs, and Baltimore is among the Super Bowl favorites once again, so that would be a huge signing.
Keenan Allen and Chris Godwin are two great possession receivers who could also help a team in need, and Tom Brady’s ownership role with the Raiders has oddsmakers expecting Godwin to land there.
Christian Kirk was traded to the Texans and the Seahawks released Tyler Lockett, giving teams options to add a slot receiver. The bigger news out of Seattle is DK Metcalf requesting a trade. The Steelers, Packers, and Chargers could target Metcalf in a trade. The 49ers also have a need on the outside after dealing Deebo Samuel to Washington.
Running back free agency primer
Compared to last year, when several big-name running backs switched teams and Saquon Barkley wound up carrying the Eagles to a Super Bowl, the 2025 free agent class is scant at the position. Veteran Aaron Jones performed well on a one-year deal with the Vikings but has injury concerns. J.K. Dobbins managed to mostly stay healthy with the Chargers last year, and he could help a contender in a timeshare role. Najee Harris could be out in Pittsburgh with the Steelers finding more production from Jaylen Warren. Nick Chubb will likely be available for a team looking to rekindle the magic he flashed before his traumatic leg injury.
Offensive line free agency primer
Ravens offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley will be the most coveted name on the market at his position, and the Patriots might be the only team with enough cap space available to win that auction. Jedrick Wills Jr. is coming off a disappointing campaign with the Browns but has plenty of potential. Cam Robinson bounced from the Jaguars to the Vikings last year and could bolster the tackle position for a different contender. At guard, Brandon Scherff could slip out of Jacksonville and find his way to a contender. Drew Dalman would be one of the best centers available if Atlanta doesn’t retain his services.
Defensive front free agency primer
Sack machine Khalil Mack is going to be available for teams that need a reliable pass rusher, and the Chargers have released Joey Bosa, opening the door for another team to add the injury-prone edge rusher. Chase Young can jump off the sinking ship in New Orleans to make an impact for a contender, and Josh Sweat might take a bigger payday with a new team after winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles. The champs could also get outbid on interior defensive lineman Milton Williams. The Chargers will have to make a decision on retaining run-stuffing tackle Teiar Tart, and the Seahawks could lose Jarran Reed on the interior.
Secondary free agency primer
Most of the Vikings’ elite secondary is up for new contracts, with cornerback Byron Murphy set to earn one of the top deals at his position. Safeties Cam Bynum and Harrison Smith are also free agents. The Eagles have released veteran corner Darius Slay, who joins a talented free agent cornerback class that includes DJ Reed, Carlton Davis, Rasul Douglas, Charvarius Ward, and Asante Samuel Jr.
