Early NFL Week 4 Bets To Place

Week 3 of the NFL season just got underway with a Browns win on Thursday night, but it’s not too early to start thinking about Week 4 bets. Let’s take a look at which bets you might want to lock in before this week’s action moves some of the lines.

Kansas City Chiefs Moneyline (-120) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

If the Buccaneers’ offense is stuck in neutral again this week, I expect the Chiefs will become much stronger favorites in this one.

It’s tough to argue with Tampa’s defense so far, but Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes. He can win anywhere and has won in Tampa before, albeit not in the Super Bowl. If this Buccaneers offense continues to play like it has early in the season, it won’t take a dominant offensive performance for the Chiefs to come out on top.

The parallel of Mahomes and the Chiefs cruising past the Colts on the road while the Buccaneers struggle to get past the Packers at home would result in plenty of money pouring in for Kansas City. If that’s the scenario you see playing out, it’s better to get the Chiefs now at -1 or at -120 on the moneyline.

Cleveland Browns (-2.5) @ Atlanta Falcons

While I don’t typically play the what-if game, the Browns are an unsuccessful onside kick away from being 3-0. The Falcons, on the other hand, still have one of the last inspiring rosters in the NFL.

Atlanta has looked solid in two losses this season, building up a big lead against the Saints and mounting a comeback against the Rams that fell just short last weekend. That’s probably all that’s keeping this line so close. If the Falcons lose handily against a similarly bad Seahawks team, this line should move further toward the Browns.

Cleveland’s offense isn’t as sluggish as I expected, especially with Jacoby Brissett and Amari Cooper establishing a great connection. With the running game thriving as well, the Browns shouldn’t have a tough time scoring on a thin Falcons defense.

With the spread less than a field goal, the Browns are a great value right now.

Chicago Bears Moneyline (+140) @ New York Giants

The Giants are 2-0, but not convincingly. New York needed a comeback and some field goal luck to take out the Titans, and the win over Carolina was ugly all-around.

Ugly games are games the Bears can win. If Chicago takes care of business against a similarly talent-starved Texans team this week, it’s possible you could lose some value on the moneyline against the Giants. The same might be true if the Giants come out flat on Monday and lose to Cooper Rush’s Cowboys. Giants doubters may want to lock the Bears in early.

Miami Dolphins (+1.5) @ Cincinnati Bengals

The Dolphins are slight road underdogs against the Bengals in Week 4, but that could change if Miami beats expectations against the Bills. If the Dolphins prove they can go toe-to-toe with Buffalo, even without pulling out a win, you might see this line shift considerably in Miami’s favor.

The Bengals are bound to get back on track, but they can do that this weekend against the Jets. Shutting down the Dolphins’ passing attack is an entirely different challenge. Based on what we’ve seen so far this year, it’s far from a guarantee that Cincinnati’s offense has enough to keep up with Miami’s. File that under sentences you wouldn’t have expected to say this year.

Dolphins +1.5 and Dolphins moneyline (+105) might both be solid values to lock in now.
