I was prepared to follow my “road warrior” strategy that cashed me some tickets Friday night when the Florida Panthers advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. However, Seattle hasn’t been nearly as strong on the road this postseason, going 3-3 overall and 1-2 in this series. While there is still potential moneyline value for a Seattle team that’s been rewarding bettors throughout the playoffs, I’m looking toward the total right now. The over has hit in every single game of this series, and yet there’s still value on betting over six goals in this elimination game.
Jake Oettinger’s playoff heroics might have put him on the map for the Stars last season, but the young goaltender has not been himself against the Kraken. Oettinger has allowed 3.5 goals per game against the Kraken, being pulled in two games. And with Seattle goalie recording a 3.66 GAA against Dallas, it’s difficult to put much faith in either player between the pipes. Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz are both leading the Stars with eight goals each (with Pavelski doing so despite missing most of Round 1) and Seattle has had an impressive 18 total goalscorers in the playoffs this year. The offenses are clicking and the goalies have cooled down, so take the value on the over one more time as we see which team can make it to the Western Conference Finals.
