1. Mobile sports betting in New York has appeared to fall short this year as the session ended today. Sports betting in New York, for the time being, will be limited to physical locations. This is a big hit for New York in terms of sports betting revenue, as the majority of New York City’s bettors will more than likely continue their short drives to New Jersey (or even Pennsylvania) to bet online as opposed to traveling upstate to place bets at the nearest casino.
2. The NBA is launching a never before seen betting product. The NBA has signed a deal with Highlight Games to create “NBA Last 90,” a virtual sports betting game that will utilize real NBA highlights and footage. NBA Last 90 gives bettors the chance to bet on various outcomes during the last 90 seconds of a simulated match-up between two NBA teams. A vast archive of NBA highlights and footage will be randomly pulled from any match-up over recent seasons between the two teams, producing millions of possible outcomes, according to Highlight Games Limited. USA bettors can expect to see this sometime during the 2019-2020 NBA season.

Women’s World Cup
Cameroon vs New Zealand 12:00 PM
Cameroon and New Zealand are both 0-0-2 to start their World Cup, but both teams still have a chance to qualify for the knockout stage. The winner of this game will be in a great spot to get one of the four third-place spots. Both teams are -3 in goal differential and a win would put them at -2 or better. Tying them with Nigeria and making them one of the four teams to qualify out of third place. The only team that could top them would be Chile with a win today against Thailand, but at -5 goal differential, they would need at least two more goals than the winner of this game.
Cameroon has played well against two opponents who are far more superior in Canada and the Netherlands, losing a combined 4-1. New Zealand has yet to score a goal against those two. Cameroon has been a better offensive team than New Zealand this World Cup and they are also a more disciplined team. Cameroon has been more successful on tackles and has committed fewer fouls than New Zealand. Needing a win, I think Cameroon finds a way to sneak a goal or two past New Zealand. Cameroon made the knockout stage at the last World Cup and could do so again this year.
Women’s World Cup
Thailand vs Chile 3:00 PM
Chile needs a win and perhaps a lot of goals if they want to advance to the knockout stage. Playing the later game, they will get to see exactly what they need to do to advance after the conclusion of the Cameroon/New Zealand match. If there is no winner between Cameroon and New Zealand, then Chile will just need a win to advance. However, if there is a winner in that first match, they will need a win as well as a big goal differential.
Chile should be able to get a win against Thailand no problem, but I expect them to come out guns blazing in this one and not letting their foot off of the gas. Thailand could sneak in a goal of their own and that would help with the OVER bet. Although, I think Chile can reach it on their own. Chile straight up doesn’t provide the greatest value, but the OVER certainly does.
Major League Baseball
Cincinnati Reds vs Milwaukee Brewers 8:10 PM
The Cincinnati Reds have won four in a row and the Milwaukee Brewers have just been swept by the San Diego Padres. Tanner Roark gets the start for the Reds and has a 3.63 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP with 74 strikeouts in 74 1/3 innings. Pitching for the Brewers will be Jimmy Nelson, who will be making his third start this season. Nelson has had some trouble so far this season, sporting a 10.29 ERA and a 2.14 WHIP.
Roark has been up and down this season and his last three starts haven’t been great (10 earned runs in 18 innings). However, those three games have been against some solid offenses in Texas, Philadelphia, and Washington. Nelson has gotten rocked by the 28th and 29th ranked offenses in his two starts (San Francisco and Miami). The Reds are hot and the Brewers are struggling. With a pitcher like Nelson on the mound, you have to roll with Roark and the Reds in this one. The good news, the Reds are at plus money in this one.
