FanDuel is home to one of the biggest sportsbook bonuses in the country. While other Pennsylvania sportsbook offer bonuses of up to $250, FanDuel doubles down with a bonus worth up to $500. New users are entitled to a $500 bonus bet. If your first bet with FanDuel is a loser, they will refund you up to $500 of your bet in site credit. FanDuel Sportsbook Mobile App
Pennsylvania residents will be happy to know that the FanDuel Sportsbook App works for iOS users as well. Apple has been giving sportsbooks trouble recently about launching their apps. Since the FanDuel Sportsbook App existed before Apple’s recent changes, they have until September 3rd to abide by their new policies. So Pennsylvania bettors with iOS phones will have at least until then to enjoy the app on their phones.
NFL Week 1 Lines
FanDuel has their Week 1 NFL lines available and they provide some of the best odds with the lowest “vig” in the business.
NFL Week 1 Best Bets
Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears (Under 46-115)
The Chicago Bears are expected to have one of the league’s best, if not best, defenses yet again this season. We don’t know what to expect from Aaron Rodgers and the new Green Bay offense with Matt LaFleur at the helm. The Packers beefed up their defense this offseason and are hoping to improve on their subpar 2018 defense. A divisional game that could be crucial in deciding who wins the NFC North, look for both teams to come out a little timid to start the 2019 season.
Atlanta Falcons vs Minnesota Vikings: (Atlanta +164)
Both the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings are expected to put together nine-win seasons according to most sportsbooks. Matt Ryan was third in the league in passing yards last season and Julio Jones looked like the league’s best wide receiver with his 1677 yards. Kirk Cousins is going to continue to have a rough time behind an offensive line that was one of the worst in the league last season. Even against a solid Vikings defense, the Falcons will put up points. I don’t think the Vikings offense (19th in PPG last season) will be able to keep up, especially with Cousins struggling to find time in the pocket. The value on Atlanta is too good to pass up.
San Francisco 49ers vs Denver Broncos: (San Francisco +106)
The San Francisco 49ers enter the season as one of the best teams nobody is talking about. They got the best overall player in the NFL Draft (Nick Bosa) and added some weapons for Jimmy Garoppolo (Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd). Injuries crushed their 2018 season, for which they had high hopes for. The defense will certainly improve on their 28th overall ranking from last season. Their pass rush will be one of the best in the league this season with the addition of Bosa and Dee Ford. They have young talent all over their roster on both sides of the ball. Look for the 49ers to be a surprise Wild Card team this season and that starts with a Week 1 victory over a Denver Broncos team that is in for a rough 2019.
NFL Week 1 Bets to Avoid
Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets
The addition of Le’Veon Bell isn’t going to turn the entire team’s fortunes around. There were too many holes on the Jets team and one player can’t fill them all, especially after taking a season off. Sam Darnold is too turnover prone at this point in his career to trust as a true leader. The Buffalo Bills situation isn’t much better. Look for Josh Allen to continue to go through growing pains this season. He recently said that he wants to “complete every pass” (what quarterback doesn’t), but he barely completed half of his passes last season (52.8%). Neither team will be much of a threat to New England in the AFC East this season, and there is no telling which of these two will be the least awful in Week 1.
Tennessee Titans vs Cleveland Browns
Everyone is high on the Cleveland Browns this season, and they should be. Baker Mayfield looked like a legit threat in his first season and the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. was perhaps the biggest move of the offseason. However, before we all pile onto the hype train, let’s give the Browns one week to prove themselves. They are still the Cleveland Browns and if there is such thing as a curse in sports, this team has it. If any team could be stockpiled with young talent and underperform, it would be the Browns. I still think they have a shot to take down the AFC North and go 10-6, possibly 11-5 this season. That being said, you don’t want to be on that hype train if it derails in Week 1. Give them a chance to prove themselves first.
Indianapolis Colts vs Los Angeles Chargers
This game could be a potential AFC Championship game preview or at the very least a Wild Card preview. Andrew Luck is my preseason favorite for MVP this year and the Colts are a potential Super Bowl team this year. The Los Angeles Chargers may finally have a team good enough to get Phillip Rivers to the Super Bowl. These two teams are both too good to bank on against each other in the first week of the season. It’s best to leave this game alone and just sit back and enjoy what will probably be the best game of the first week of the season. Save your bets for when they meet in the playoffs.
