What To Know About The Cut At The PGA Championship
The PGA Championship cut differs from the core PGA Tour events and major championships. After two rounds, the top 70 players, including ties, will advance to play the weekend. Most PGA Tour events include the top 65 players and ties. Elsewhere, at the Masters, the top 50 players and ties play the weekend.

In 2024, the PGA Championship began with 156 contestants before shrinking to 78 as the official cuts were made on Saturday morning (one-under-par) after the second round was suspended due to severe weather. Household contenders, like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, failed to make the cut. The world’s then-fourth-ranked golfer, Wyndham Clark, was also unable to qualify for the final 36 holes.
