Sunday will feature a huge matchup in the NFC as both the Panthers and Eagles look to regroup after big losses last week. The Panthers’ defense that had been rated #1 in the league in DVOA got trampled by the Cowboys. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ defense could not come up with any answers for Tyreek Hill and the Chiefs. This game should be tighter, and both teams need a bounce-back win.

Jalen Hurts u1.5 Passing Touchdowns

Jalen Hurts has looked good this season. He was able to come out and dominate a bad Falcons defense and bad Chiefs defense. However, the two formidable opponents between those matchups caused him great trouble passing the ball. Between the 49ers and Cowboys game, he only threw for two touchdowns, which both basically came in garbage time. Simply put, Hurts struggles against good defenses, and Carolina is one of the best in the league.

Despite the terrible performance against Dallas, the Panthers still rank 4th in defensive DVOA. I expect that the Eagles will have trouble moving the ball all game, but I predict that the game will be close enough that there will be no time for two garbage-time touchdowns from Hurts.

Chuba Hubbard To Score Anytime + o64.5 Rushing Yards

Chuba Hubbard was the featured back with CMC out of the game last week. Unfortunately, the extremely negative game script limited Hubbard’s impact on the game. From early on in this matchup against the Cowboys, the Panthers had to air out the ball, just to get somewhat back in the game; despite all that, Hubbard recorded 57 yards on 13 rushes. Expect Hubbard to be even more efficient, going up against the 28th ranked rush defense, and expect the game script to be positive for the Panthers at home. With CMC already ruled out, Hubbard will get more touches, and those touches should be even more valuable.

I love parlaying Hubbard to hit the over on rushing yards and to score a touchdown, with how easy it has been to rush on this Eagles’ defense. Hubbard will be the main man in the red zone and should have plenty of opportunities to score in this game.

Robby Anderson o19.5 Longest Reception

Robby Anderson has not been the same deep threat this year. Joe Brady is using him in a different role this year that caters a bit more to short and intermediate routes. However, we saw what Robby does against bad defenses in the first matchup of the season when he caught a 57-yard touchdown against the Jets. Mixing this with the fact that last week the Eagles gave up 3 plays of 30+ yards to Tyreek Hill, and you can see why Joe Brady and Sam Darnold may be looking to target Robby deep in this game.

If Robby makes any catches in this matchup, I believe that they will end up hitting the over on this bet. Either the target will be deep, or the Eagles’ terrible tackling will allow Anderson to get enough yards after the catch to hit this prop bet.
