Where Can I Bet in Philadelphia?
Parx Casino
The Parx is located just 19 miles north of downtown Philadelphia in Bensalem. Parx Casino opened its sportsbook on January 10, 2019. A temporary sportsbook is located in the 360 Lounge on the casino gaming floor. A permanent sportsbook is currently under construction, reportedly costing $10 million. Casino patrons wishing to place a bet do not have to make their way to the 360 Lounge. There are 30 self-service betting kiosks distributed throughout the casino.
The Parx Casino is expected to be one of the first to launch its mobile sports betting app.
SugarHouse Casino
The SugarHouse Casino is located in downtown Philadelphia. The sportsbook opened on December 15, 2018. Like the Parx Casino, SugarHouse is also waiting on construction of a permanent sportsbook lounge. The temporary betting lounge is located across from the Poker Room.
The SugarHouse sports betting app is also expected to be one of the first to launch in Pennsylvania, sometime in June.
Valley Forge Casino Resort
The Valley Forge Sportsbook is located 20 miles west of downtown Philadelphia. The sportsbook opened its door under the FanDuel name on March 13, 2019. The FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino Resort features seven betting windows and 27 television screens.
With a partner like FanDuel, Valley Forge Casino resort will have one of the most popular sports betting apps in the state. However, they are not expected to be one of the first in the state to launch. Look for them to have their app operational by the end of July, possibly earlier.
Harrah’s Philadelphia
Harrah’s Philadelphia is located about 10 miles southwest of downtown Philadelphia, in Chester. They opened their sportsbook on January 24, 2019. Harrah’s Philadelphia is home to one of the nicest sportsbooks in the state. The lounge features custom bar seating, high-top tables, and lounge chair seating. There are over 45 large screen TVs to take in all of the sports action.
When launched, Harrah’s app will have a nice advantage over the rest of the mobile sports betting market by being apart of Caesars Entertainment.
South Philadelphia Turf Club
The South Philadelphia Turf Club opened its sportsbook on January 17, 2019. Located in South Philadelphia, the Turf Club is within walking distance of Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and the Wells Fargo Center. The Turf Club is affiliated with the Parx Casino. It is a perfect place for bettors to place wagers on sports and horses at the same time.
Valley Forge Turf Club
Valley Forge Turf Club opened its sportsbook the day before the main casino did, March 12, 2019. It is Philadelphia’s second off-track sports betting facility along with the South Philadelphia Turf Club. The Valley Forge Turf Club is located 25 miles west of downtown Philadelphia.
