Pittsburgh Steelers Partner with BetMGM

On Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced a multi-year partnership with BetMGM. This will be the team’s first gaming partner and the first team from Pittsburgh to form a gaming partnership. The partnership focuses on the “Steelers Kickoff” pregame show, which is fan-focused and will sponsor the program.

“We are excited to introduce BetMGM to Steelers Nation,” said Ryan Huzjak, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Not only will BetMGM be elevating some of our existing platforms, but they will be introducing new and exciting opportunities to Steelers fans. We are looking forward to kicking off this partnership.”

Both parties will have promotions and digital signage in the stadium and on the BetMGM mobile betting app. The two parties will be able to take advantage of the cross-promotion with the partnership.

The multi-year partnership will include BetMGM becoming the Steelers Kickoff pregame show’s featured partner and renamed Steelers Kickoff Presented by BetMGM Sweepstakes. One prize winner will receive two club level season tickets, and two VIP Hospitality Tent Passes for 10 years, thanks to BetMGM.

BetMGM will also be giving away weekly prizes along with signed Steelers merchandise, as the contest will run during the entirety of the football season. The sportsbook will also be presented in gameday media and weekly media spots, including The Point After, Players Show, Preview Show, and In the Locker Room Show with Tunch & Wolf (ESPN Pittsburgh).

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board recently received the ok to offer online gaming in Pennsylvania. The plan is to launch its sports betting and online casino app in the coming weeks. BetMGM will be offering sports betting in the Keystone State before the year is out.

The Steelers become BetMGM’s sixth NFL partner as the sportsbook has partnered with the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, and Tennessee Titans. BetMGM is doing its best to extend its brand across the NFL, which is the most popular sport and league to bet on in the U.S.

This year the Denver Broncos became the first NFL team to partner with a sports betting operator. That number has now jumped to over 10 teams in the NFL, including the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants have also created partnerships.

It is only a matter of time before all 32 NFL teams have a betting partnership, or possibly multiple partnerships in the coming years. The NFL remains king in the U.S. and still the most popular sport to bet, so it only makes sense that teams will want to capitalize on the sport and gain market share with its brand.
