Pittsburgh Steelers Vs. Indianapolis Colts Player Prop Picks
While this Monday Night Football game between the Steelers and Colts might not be the most enticing on the surface, it carries a ton of value in the player props department. In this article, I’ll break down my favorite plays from this game. You can use the Steelers vs. Colts player prop search tool above to compare odds from different sportsbooks. Let’s get to work.
Pat Freiermuth Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-115 BetMGM)
Kenny Pickett and Pat Freiermuth are developing great chemistry, and it’s showing with their recent results. In three of his last four games, Freiermuth has gone over this receiving yardage line and he has averaged 57.3 receiving yards over his last six games. Freiermuth’s team-leading 12 targets last week evidence his capability of being a workhorse in the passing offense.
This matchup sets up very well for Freiermuth as the Colts rank 27th in DVOA against tight ends. They’ve allowed less athletic tight ends Foster Moreau (43) and Hunter Henry (50) to go over 43.5 receiving yards in recent weeks, as well.
The Colts play zone at the 11th-highest rate in the NFL entering Week 12 per PFF, and Freiermuth is the Steelers’ highest-graded receiving weapon against zone coverage. Against Gus Bradley’s Cover 3 defense, there should be plenty of opportunities for Freiermuth to exploit in the middle of the field.
Parris Campbell Over 45.5 Receiving Yards (-115 BetMGM)
We targeted Parris Campbell last week and he cashed for us. I’m happy to go back to him here. Campbell is averaging 71 receiving yards in his last three games with Matt Ryan, and the emergent wide receiver has become a go-to target in this offense.
Campbell will be covered by Arthur Maulet, the Steelers’ slot corner, most often in this game, and Maulet has had a brutal season. He allowed a 132.2 passer rating in coverage last week, and he’s allowing a 73.5% catch rate in coverage this year. Maulet has played 71% of his snaps out of the slot this season.
Campbell has an elite 78.6% catch rate, and playing his receptions prop might be the better way to go. However, that line hasn’t been posted yet, so I can’t make an official ruling there as of yet. I’ll be posting either his receiving yardage or receptions prop on our main player props page.
Jonathan Taylor Under 85.5 Rushing Yards (-115 DraftKings)
Nothing in this game has piqued my interest quite as much as the Pat Freiermuth and Parris Campbell props, but Matt and I discussed a potential Jonathan Taylor under on our YouTube channel. Taylor surpassed this number against the Raiders a couple of weeks ago, but it was the only time since Week 1 that he’s been over this number.
It’s not entirely his fault as the Colts rank second-worst in adjusted line yards, but Taylor also hasn’t been himself this season. His PFF rushing grade has dropped from 90.0 to 67.3, and he’s only averaging 3.05 yards after contact per carry after averaging 3.83 last year.
The Steelers run defense was a major issue last year, but they’ve improved a ton this season. They rank top seven in DVOA, success rate, and yards per carry allowed on the ground. Taylor has finished with underwhelming results against worse run defenses this season, so this sets up as a difficult spot for him.
