Basketball Takes The Stage
PointsBet recently announced an expansion of its digital programming, adding a basketball-themed show to its slate of programs that will be available on its Youtube and podcast platforms.
“Count It,” hosted by MSG Network’s Kazeem Famuyide, will air four times a week on its varying social media platforms, discussing daily storylines and betting picks surrounding college basketball and the NBA.
“Kaz brings a dynamic unlike any other analyst out there, providing an injection of energy and unique perspective on the NBA and college basketball as well as unmatched insights into picks of the day,” said Liam Roecklein, SVP of Content at PointsBet USA.
“Count It” marks the third original sport-specific program made by Pointsbet Studio. It joins “The Straight Line” and its host, former NFL Quarterback Ryan Leaf, as well as “Stoppage Time with Ian Joy” which focuses on soccer. The studio’s first basketball broadcast will be available on Youtube, Spotify, Apple podcasts, and other podcast platforms. According to the press release, more broadcasts are coming in the future.
“Being able to talk about the sport I’m so passionate about with incredible guests and to do so against the backdrop of sports betting is next to none. I look forward to diving right in at the halfway point of the NBA season and begin prepping for March Madness,” said Famuyide.

“Lightning Bets” Still Going Strong
This comes after PointsBet released its wildly popular Lightning Bets, a live in-game betting feature that was revealed in October.
“Our Lightning Bets feature for both the NBA and college basketball is second to none, allowing users to bet on every play, basket, and rebound, making this a perfect time to launch the new show, and we’re thrilled to have Kaz at the helm.”
PointsBet initially launched Lightning Bets to refocus the North American sports betting market on live betting options as opposed to more traditional betting ways. Through the feature, its been able to carve out a niche area of the highly-competitive, highly-crowded U.S. sports betting market – people want live bets, and they come to PointsBet for them.

PointsBet Ohio
In even more recent news, PointsBet launched in Ohio on the turn of the new year, which is already showing early signs of success.
GeoComply reported that on the opening weekend of sports betting in Ohio, the state outpaced New York over the 48-hour period.
11.3 million transactions and 783,864 unique accounts were recorded across the 16 legal operators in the state. While no revenue reports have been released from the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) directly, these estimations are indicative of a good start.
PointsBet was among the operators that launched on day one of sports betting in Ohio. It partnered with Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley to roll out in the state. Interested Ohio sports bettors can redeem PointsBet’s new-user offer which is two Second Chance Bets with the sportsbook.
