PointsBet Partners With Korn Ferry Tour & Unveils BetCast With NBC
Contents
PointsBet released a couple of massive statements today. The first revolved around BetCast, which is going to be a sports betting-centered viewing program. The first use of it will be tonight with the Chicago Bulls game as they take on the Hornets at 9 pm ET. Then, PointsBet released another press release noting that it had become an official betting partner of the Korn Ferry Tour. Specifically, it will be the exclusive partner of TPC Colorado’s Championship at Heron Lakes.
These were two bits of big news to wake up to, as PointsBet looks to establish itself with the Big 3 by investing more and more into partnerships. Of course, the fact that NBC has a large stake in PointsBet does not hurt. It allows the company to get some significant partnerships and exposure due to NBC’s massive presence in American entertainment.
BetCast
BetCast is an innovative new idea from PointsBet and NBC to try and highlight sports betting in areas in which it is legal. This new viewing offering will be tested in the Chicago market. According to the release,
“The alternate presentation on NBC Sports Chicago Plus will be highlighted by enhanced sports betting data, analysis, information, and commentary throughout the NBA matchup.” This is an excellent new option for those who love betting.
Rest assured that this is not the only way to watch the game as there will be regular coverage as well. BetCast will also highlight live odds as the game is being played, and this means that you can go on your PointsBet Sportsbook account right then and there and take the wagers being talked about. PointsBet is also offering advice from senior editor Teddy Greenstein on the broadcast.
TPC Colorado Deal
While the Korn Ferry Tour is obviously not as big as PGA events, the Championship at Heron Lakes is still a pretty large event, and now PointsBet will be the exclusive betting partner of this event. This means that the best odds, promotions, and coverage will be on the PointsBet platform. The deal is another major step forward in getting PointsBet’s brand out in Colorado.
As of right now, PointsBet is a partner of both the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets due to its deal with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, who own the venues that those teams play in. PointsBet also has a headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
PointsBet Market Size
PointsBet is starting to really make a name for itself in both Illinois and Colorado. The sportsbook has done a great job securing massive partnerships, which gives itself credibility and marketability. It is hard to compete with established American brands, especially coming from Australia. However, NBC has done a phenomenal job of getting the PointsBet name out there.
A key next step for PointsBet is making sure it gets in on the action with any new big states that legalize. New York and Florida both look like they can be welcoming in online sportsbooks in the coming year, and those will be massive markets that PointsBet will want and need to be a part of.
