San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals Player Props (10/10/21)

The 49ers and Cardinals face off this week in a battle between two Super Bowl contenders who also happen to be divisional rivals. Betting on the spread or over/under is always an option, but player props are also an exciting way to get action on the game. The following are some of our staff’s favorite prop bets for this game, featuring some intriguing players on both sides.

San Francisco 49ers Vs. Arizona Cardinals Player Prop Search Tool

Kyler Murray Over 283.5 Passing Yards

Kyler Murray, now the odds-on favorite for MVP, is having a phenomenal season thus far. Before this season, he had thrown for about 240 yards per game, which has skyrocketed to 318 yards per game in 2021. Murray benefits from the improved pass-catching around him, including veteran A.J. Green, rookie Rondale Moore, and elevated play from Christian Kirk and Maxx Williams. Of course, DeAndre Hopkins remains the team’s top wideout. Murray has thrown for over 283.5 passing yards in three of four games this season and would have gotten there last week if the Rams put up more of a fight offensively. The 49ers are debuting Trey Lance this week, and while that will be a volatile factor, I believe San Francisco pushes the ball enough to make Murray throw for close to 300 yards this week.

James Conner Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Chase Edmonds has been excellent this season, but he’s now dealing with a shoulder injury and may not play this week. Even with Edmonds in the lineup, James Conner has 14 red-zone carries, the fifth-most, and 5 carries inside the 5, the second-most in the NFL. He has turned those opportunities into two rushing touchdowns in each of the last two weeks and now faces the 49ers, who have allowed 1.2 rushing touchdowns per game this year, tied for the seventh-most in the league. In what should be another high-scoring output for the Cardinals, Conner should see every opportunity to add to his touchdown tally this week.

A.J. Green Over 3.5 Receptions

The veteran wide receiver looks rejuvenated this season and has been an integral part of the offense for his new team. Green has played on 226 snaps this season, 82.7% of the team’s total snaps, and more than any wide receiver other than DeAndre Hopkins. Green has parlayed that time on the field into 15 catches through four games, including five catches in each of the last two weeks. The 49ers are dealing with several injuries in the secondary, most notably to top cornerback Jason Verrett, and the bulk of their defensive attention will be focused on Hopkins. With lighter coverage for Green in his typical high-usage role, he should have no problem surpassing 3.5 catches for the third straight week.

Both Teams to Score 20+ Points

I always love this prop because it allows you to bet on a high-scoring game without necessarily betting on the normal over in the game. The under is 38-27 overall this season entering Sunday, so I’m wary of betting on the over right now in general. However, the 49ers have scored 20+ points in three of their four games, and the Cardinals are averaging 35 points per game, the most in the NFL. With an over/under of 49.5 points and the Cardinals favored by 4.5 points, Vegas is expecting both of these teams to get to 20 points this week.
