What time does the Super Bowl start and end?
While the NFL lists the official start time as 6:30 p.m. ET for Super Bowl 59, per usual, the exact kickoff should occur a few minutes later after the coin toss, national anthem, and other pregame ceremonies take center stage. The ball should be kicked into the air somewhere between two and five minutes after 6:30 p.m.

When the Eagles and Chiefs met in Super Bowl 57, kickoff was over 10 minutes after 6:30 p.m. ET, and the game didn’t end until 10:14 p.m. In 2024, the Chiefs and 49ers played to an overtime finish, so the game didn’t end until 10:46 p.m. On average, the Super Bowl will run about three and a half hours from kickoff to conclusion.

How long will the Super Bowl last?
Most NFL games last about three hours, but the Super Bowl has a halftime show that takes up at least double the usual length for halftime. Plus, networks sell high-priced commercials that lead to longer breaks between game action, so Super Bowl 59 should last at least three and a half hours.
