The American Cornhole League and DraftKings Enter Partnership

It was announced by the American Cornhole League that DraftKings would be the official betting partner of the league. This means that the ACL will be on the table for wagers and events with DraftKings this coming season.
There is going to be a massive American Cornhole League finals on Saturday, February 6th, before the Super Bowl, and there is no doubt that this announcement is being used to promote both the league and wagering for the event on Saturday.
The American Cornhole League
The league consists of several divisions, including a Pro and Championship series. However, the ACL also has both college and junior events to help expand the fun sport. The American Cornhole League is also a part of the World Cornhole Organization.
Funny enough, the American Cornhole League is somewhat of a perfect sport for a pandemic as there is no need for officials or players to be within six feet of one another. The league has been able to proceed with the massive events it holds before the Super Bowl, as planned.
DraftKings’ Smaller Partners
DraftKings has made an effort to reach out to smaller niche hobbies and sporting leagues these past few years to help spread its grasp on sports betting and sports gaming in general. A league similar to ACL in size would be the Drone Racing League who partnered with DraftKings back at the start of 2021.
These smaller deals probably do not cost DraftKings much but can bring in a dedicated group of bettors and players who then might spend money on other sports.
A league much bigger, but still relatively small, is the Premier Lacrosse League. The PLL and DraftKings partnered for the PLL’s 2020 season and will carry that partnership in 2021. This makes DraftKings a massive destination for lacrosse fans, cornhole fans, and drone racing fans.
On their own, none of these leagues are going to be big, but getting dozens of them together all on DraftKings adds up and will undoubtedly add to the market reach and market share that DraftKings currently enjoys.
What Cornhole Bets are Being Offered on DraftKings?
There is currently a $50k free-to-play pool on the DraftKings website that is live. This will have a positive effect on both the league and DraftKings. All cornhole fans should be flooding to DraftKings to submit their free picks in hopes of winning their share of the $50k prize pool.
However, more importantly for the American Cornhole League, hopefully, this will bring in a ton of viewership as every DraftKings bettor has access to this free-to-play pool. Many will submit an entry for fun and may end up tuning into the sport on Saturday to follow their choices.
This is a similar strategy that DraftKings is using to promote Drone Racing as it has also run several free-to-play pools with thousands of dollars in prizes on its sportsbook.
