Thunder-Pacers Game 6 Odds & NBA Finals Picks: Betting On Tyrese Haliburton’s Injury Uncertainty

While the Oklahoma City Thunder are one win away from the franchise’s first NBA championship, the Indiana Pacers have home-court advantage with their season on the brink of elimination. Continue reading for my bets on Thunder-Pacers Game 6 odds ahead of Thursday night’s matchup, including two picks regarding Tyrese Haliburton’s calf injury.

Thunder-Pacers Game 6 Odds: NBA Finals Spread, Moneyline, Total

Tyrese Haliburton Under 13.5 Points (-110, DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Thunder are face-guarding Haliburton and denying him the ball as much as possible, especially when Luguentz Dort is on the court. That’s difficult enough to handle, but Haliburton now has to battle Oklahoma City’s defense while nursing an injured calf that visibly erased his lift and burst in the fourth quarter of Game 5.

He looked extremely passive from a scoring perspective and couldn’t get downhill. Barring a miraculous recovery or an absurd night from three-point range, it’s unlikely that Haliburton can score 14 points. If he misses the game due to injury, then the bet is void and refunded.

I would play the prop at one unit.

T.J. McConnell 15+ Points + Assists (-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Game 5 will forever be known as the Jalen Williams game, but McConnell almost stole the show.

Oklahoma City held a 12-point lead in the third quarter before McConnell went on the attack and scored or assisted on 18 of the Pacers’ points during a six-minute span that helped Indiana climb back into the game. It didn’t matter whether Alex Caruso marked him on the perimeter or Chet Holmgren switched onto him inside the paint. McConnell used every ounce of shiftiness to get to his spots at will.

This wasn’t a one-time thing, as the veteran has routinely managed to break the Thunder’s first line of defense and get two feet into the paint. Here are his points plus assists for the series in chronological order: 13, 17, 15, 10, and 22.

The Pacers need McConnell’s on-ball creation more than ever due to Haliburton’s calf issue, which will, at a minimum, sap his burst or may even sideline Indiana’s star point guard for the contest.

As a bonus, McConnell feeds off the crowd’s energy, and Indiana plays Game 6 at home. I recommend taking the prop at one unit.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 2.5 Steals + Blocks (-115, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Through five games, Gilgeous-Alexander has racked up 21 “stocks,” or steals and blocks combined, recording at least three in every contest.

Indiana wants to isolate SGA on post-ups, but the regular-season (and likely NBA Finals) MVP is effectively using his long arms to either poke away the entry pass or block the post-up shot attempt.

Gilgeous-Alexander is also thriving in the passing lanes, and it should be easier for him to claim an errant pass with Haliburton hobbled. That means more on-ball reps for Andrew Nembhard, who is struggling against Oklahoma City’s ball-pressure and subsequently owns a 23.2 turnover percentage this series – the worst of any player who has logged at least 15 minutes.

Look for SGA to once again hit the over on stocks. I suggest playing the prop at one unit.
