Will Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton Play In Game 6?

According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, star guard Tyrese Haliburton will play in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

During Indiana’s 120-109 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5, Haliburton reportedly pushed to play through the injury in the second half. He initially went to the locker room in the first quarter before returning in the second quarter with his calf wrapped.

Haliburton tallied just four points, tying the lowest scoring output of his postseason career. He also finished without a field goal for the first time in any playoff game, finishing 0-for-6 from the floor. The Pacers opened the NBA Finals as record-setting underdogs, and they’ll have their work cut out for them if Haliburton is limited or unable to suit up with their season on the line, facing a 3-2 series deficit.

“I think I have to be as smart as I want to be,” Haliburton said during his media availability on Wednesday. “Have to understand the risks, ask the right questions. I’m a competitor. I want to play. I’m going to do everything in my power to play. That’s just what it is.”

Do NBA Finals Odds Reflect Concern About Tyrese Haliburton’s Status?

After Indiana opened as six-point home underdogs for Game 6, the betting market took immediate action on Haliburton and Co. As of Tuesday morning, the spread dipped from Thunder -6 to as low as -5. Given the concern with Haliburton’s status, the spread was adjusted to -6.5.

Oklahoma City is now a  road favorite with Haliburton’s status more clear. It will look to wrap up its first championship in franchise history. Indiana has thrived as an underdog in these playoffs, already winning nine games outright while riding a profitable 13-8 against-the-spread mark.

Although Haliburton has averaged 15.0 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.2 rebounds in the NBA Finals, his production will likely take a hit if he’s able to play. Bettors can find Haliburton’s player props for Game 6 below. His points prop has already slipped from 14.5 to .

If Haliburton is inactive, T.J. McConnell is expected to earn a starting nod. The two-way pest was instrumental again in Game 5, helping Indiana slice an 18-point deficit to a two-point margin in the second half before Oklahoma City took firm control.

McConnell’s points prop has hovered near 7.5 throughout the NBA Finals, but the market has already adjusted given Haliburton’s uncertainty, bumping it up to .
