2025 U.S. Open Betting Odds, Picks, Predictions: Best Bets, Props, OAD

We are one sleep away from the penultimate major of the year. My full betting card is officially locked in for 2025 U.S. Open odds.

With the consensus most difficult venue in all of golf looming, and conditions looking to cooperate for a properly firm and fast setup, we should expect utter carnage this week and a potential winning score above par. Unlike traditional U.S. Open venues, pure power will not be enough to conquer Oakmont CC. Instead, it will call for in-form players with complete control of their driver and irons, and a mastery of these firm, fast, and nuanced greens to earn the title of 2025 U.S. Open champion.

Ahead, we’ll get into my full betting card and final thoughts for the 2025 U.S. Open. Click the odds anywhere in this article to place U.S. Open bets at legal sports betting sites

How I Built My U.S. Open Betting Card

Oakmont Country Club is the most difficult venue you could possibly assemble to challenge the best players in the world. To its absolute credit, this course is designed in a way that fairly penalizes imperfect shots without relying on sheer length to do so. Bombers have less of an advantage this week than most. However, the longest hitters who manage to have complete control over their driver stand to generate the most scoring opportunities here.

I’ve built my betting card around in-form, elite total drivers who have proven to be at their best when grinding in difficult, major-like conditions.

In terms of unit allocations for my card this week, we are upping the stakes just a bit to match the high-stakes atmosphere of the third major of the year. Click on any of the U.S. Open betting odds below for the best available prices across legal sportsbooks in your state.

U.S. Open Outright Odds & Bets (4.7 Units)

Bryson DeChambeau

My Bet: +900
Best Available Odds:

It’s best not to get cute when searching for the future U.S. Open winner on what is known to be the most challenging course in major history. That is going to require picture-perfect form and a rock-solid resume of performance in the most difficult of conditions to overcome, so I found it necessary to tether my betting card to one of the top dogs among U.S. Open odds.

The U.S. Open Merchant is looking for his third such title since 2020, and it’s no surprise to see it’s this type of grueling USGA setup that continues to bring the best out of his game. Bryson is the No. 1 player in terms of SG: OTT, Total Driving, and Driving Distance, all metrics that should help him withstand the ample hazards lurking around this course.

His short game remains amongst the most underrated in golf and was the deciding factor in securing his first two major wins.

Patrick Cantlay

My Bet: +5000
Best Available Odds:

A grueling behemoth like Oakmont Country Club requires much more than form to conquer. You also need patience, experience with similar classical-designed setups, and a strategic game plan to stick to even when the inevitable bogeys come. Cantlay is one of, if not the, best player in golf yet to win a major, and a course like Oakmont CC is exactly the type of venue that would make sense for him to break through at.

Cantlay has flexed his strengths as a course strategist at Muirfield Village, one of the top overall comp courses, to Oakmont CC, with two career wins at the Memorial. He continues to trend better and better at majors, too, with six top-15s since 2022.

Viktor Hovland

My Bet: +6000
Best Available Odds:

My featured spotlight player of the week, there just seems to be a good atmosphere in the air following Hovland. I trust him as one of the premier drivers in the game, he has been a model of consistency on approach ever since winning the Valspar Championship, and for as low as I would expect the Greens In Regulation rate to be at Oakmont, the rough has been grown to an exaggerated point that removes touch and skill from scrambling.

Hovland has the distance and ball-striking chops to generate scoring opportunities at Oakmont and knows what it feels like to contend for a major with four top-5 finishes since 2022.

Matt Fitzpatrick

My Bet: +12000
Best Available Odds:

A late addition to my betting card this week, I’ve continued to talk myself more and more into Fitzpatrick and his chances as the week’s gone on. Who better than a former U.S. Open champion to withstand the most grueling conditions one can face in Oakmont CC? Fitzpatrick’s slow start to the 2025 season has relegated him beyond the 100-1 odds mark, but a stretch of three straight top-30s (including a T8 at the PGA Championship) suggests he’s nearly back to his old form.

He has always been known to be at his best when scoring conditions are most difficult, and will look to notch his sixth career major top-10  this week.

U.S. Open First-Round Leader Odds & Bets (1.1 Units)

Viktor Hovland

My Bet:+5500
Best Available Odds:

I am all in on Hovland’s U.S. Open odds, and he fits the mold of the player I’m looking for to generate additional scoring opportunities with his combination of driving distance and driving accuracy. He has the ability to catch fire with the putter as well, which helped carry him to his Valspar Championship win earlier this season.

Ryan Fox

My Bet: +8000
Best Available Odds:

One of the hottest players on tour right now, we know Fox is in complete control of his driver, because we just watched him pound the fairway on the 18th hole of TPC Toronto on repeat at the RBC Canadian Open last week. He’s now won two of his last four starts and can continue to ride that hot form to a course that suits him well yet again.

Matt Fitzpatrick

My Bet: +8000
Best Available Odds:

A long hitter who can get hot with his putter, Fitzpatrick has made a career out of thriving on course setups like these. He’ll have a lot to prove this week, as he likely sits on the outside looking in for a spot on the European Ryder Cup team.

Aaron Rai

My Bet: +9000
Best Available Odds:

A glaring outlier compared to the other bombers on my FRL card this week, Rai’s run of Thursday dominance has always been course-fit-proof, so I’m not afraid to back him up against this behemoth either.

Cameron Young

My Bet: +8000
Best Available Odds:

I’m not signing myself up for the roller coaster experience of sweating Cameron Young for another four days this week after what just transpired at the RBC Candian Open, but it’s hard to deny his path to pacing the field as first round leader as he’s done previously in majors at the 2022 Open Championship. Young has the distance to attack Oakmont Country Club and enters with good momentum, with two top-10s over his last four starts.

U.S. Open Props (3 Units)

Top-20 Finisher: Patrick Cantlay

My Bet: +150
Best Available Odds:

Back-door Pat may not always be a guaranteed contender in majors, but he’s been known to linger around that first page of the leaderboard. He remains in his vintage form leading up to this week on a course that should suit him perfectly, and has finished top-20 in eight of his last 12 major starts.

Top Nordic Player: Viktor Hovland

My Bet: +320
Best Available Odds:

I am as big of a Ludvig Aberg truther as they come, but there is no question he is still searching for answers with his ball-striking leading up to this week. That is a recipe for disaster at Oakmont CC, so I’m more partial to siding with Hovland as the top dog from the Nordics, who has gained in both SG: OTT and SG: APP in each of his last six starts.

Top English Player: Matt Fitzpatrick

My Bet: +750
Best Available Odds:

With a T8 finish at the PGA Championship, Fitzpatrick successfully cashed this prop. With improved form and some newfound confidence heading back to Oakmont, I wouldn’t be surprised to see history repeat itself again this week. Fitzpatrick has the distance advantage over Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton, and Rai, who are priced ahead of him in this market, and he is the only player from that ground with a major championship under his belt.

One & Done

My Pick: Viktor Hovland

This was not the easiest call for me, as I had originally saved Xander Schauffele for this moment, and ultimately pivoted with the state of his driver, having not improved since returning from injury. With Schauffele, Joaquin Niemann, and Fleetwood standing as my top options remaining, I’m sticking to my guns with Hovland, who is in solid form and has proven to be more of a regular factor contending in majors than the latter two.

If not Hovland, I would also consider Scottie Scheffler, DeChambeau, or Niemann as OAD picks.
