Taylor Heinicke Under 261.5 Yards
Washington Football Team quarterback Taylor Heinicke was thrust into the starting quarterback role after veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a hip injury in Week 1. The former XFL player has thrown the ball surprisingly efficiently. He has a productive completion percentage but does not throw for a whole lot of yards. I would expect him to have another productive game against this weak Atlanta Falcons defense, but he will not throw the ball enough to go over 261.5 yards. Expect him to hand the ball off to running back Antonio Gibson a lot.
Matt Ryan Over 0.5 Interceptions
The Matt Ryan that brought the Atlanta Falcons an NFC Championship is gone. Ryan is still good enough to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, but he is not as dominant as he once was. After failing to throw any touchdowns in a Week 1 loss to the Philadephia Eagles, he has thrown for four touchdowns and three interceptions in the last two weeks. The man affectionately known as “Matty Ice” has lost the productivity he once had. He has an opportunity to play against a Washington defense going downhill, but he will also throw an interception against them.
Younghoe Koo Over 1.5 Field Goals
Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo is riding a high after hitting the game-winning 40-yard field goal against the New York Giants last week. The Japanese kicker has proved himself as one of the most accurate kickers in the league after only missing two field goals last year and earning himself his first Pro Bowl appearance. He is yet to miss a field goal this season and I expect that trend to continue against Washington. His quarterback, Matt Ryan, has not thrown a lot of touchdowns so far this season, but I expect Ryan to push the ball down the field and give Koo a handful of kicking opportunities this week.
J.D McKissic Over 9.5 Rush Yards
Running back J.D. McKissick has established himself as the RB2 on this Washington football team. He rushed for an impressive 23 yards on 3 carries last week in Washington’s 43-21 loss against the Buffalo Bills. Starting running back Antonio Gibson does get a lot more rushing opportunities than McKissic, but Gibson may have a more limited role this week and is currently listed as questionable. McKissic has also only rushed for under 9.5 yards one time this season. I am very confident that McKissic will surpass 9.5 rushing yards this week.
Atlanta Falcons Longest Field Goal Made
I do not have enough good things to say about Falcons fourth-year kicker Younghoe Koo. He is undebatably one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL. He was eight for nine in field goal attempts between 40 and 49 yards last season and a perfect eight for eight in field goal attempts of 50+ yards. Not only is he accurate, but he is accurate from long distances. He has not had a lot of kicking opportunities this season, but whenever he is placed in difficult kicking situations he almost always kicks the pigskin through the uprights. Need I say more?
