Contents
On Friday, William Hill entered the West Virginia sports betting market by launching its mobile betting app. The U.K. sports betting operator is the fourth mobile betting app to go live in the state behind BetMGM, DraftKings, and FanDuel.
William Hill is now in 11 states and the District of Columbia. Mobile betting is only live in Iowa, New Jersey, Nevada, and now West Virginia. Customers will be able to bet on both college and professional teams in the state, and also have multiple features that will benefit their West Virginia customers.
When you sign up with William Hill, they are offering a 100 percent first deposit match bonus up to $150, and a $10 registration bonus. The William Hill sports betting app is available for IOS and Android products.
William Hill Expansion
Willaim Hill is continuing expansion in the sports betting industry across the U.S. Even before sports betting became legal outside of Nevada, William Hill was operating in the country to help grow its international business.
The news of a mobile betting app comes at a time when Willaim Hill took over six Nevada casino last week. The U.K. sports betting operator took over for CG Technology in Las Vegas, to continue expansion in the U.S. William Hill has operations at over 150 locations across the country, and they do not look to be slowing down anytime soon.
Add that to the ever-expanding U.S. sports betting, then you have a solid recipe for success. Not to mention, they could potentially take over Caesar’s betting operations. Yes, you heard that right, the great Caesar’s could possibly merge with William Hill’s betting empire, according to William Hill CEO Joe Asher.
That merger could be huge for William Hill as they already have the third-largest market share in the U.S. sports betting industry. Although they may not be a household name like DraftKings or FanDuel, William Hill has a much bigger impact than what people think.
If they can continue this trend over the next few years, then they’ll be one of the biggest sports betting operators in the U.S. As if they weren’t already in that position.
West Virginia Sports Betting
Mobile betting finally came to West Virginia this year, and it could not have come at a better time. With the coronavirus pandemic in full swing, this allowed the state to collect taxes on sports betting with everyone having to stay home.
Although major U.S. sports were canceled for four months, bettors still found ways to get in on the action during the shutdown. West Virginia already has big names in their state like DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM.
Now, they are adding another one in William Hill, so the competition will be tough for the U.K. company. Overall, William Hill is one of the most respectable names in the sports betting industry.
They should have no issues helping the Mountain State grow sports betting over the next few years. West Virginia does not have the largest population, but the state loves their college football, especially Wet Virginia and Marshall.
