Wynn Is Betting Big On Their New App With $100 Million in Ads
Contents
Wynn Resorts really wants you to know they’re in the online sportsbook game. The company is not only spending some major cash to raise awareness of their betting app, but teaming up with celebrities to make a move in the increasingly crowded sports betting field. The company has its app up and running, an ad campaign prepared, and some promos available. Here’s the basics on what to expect from Wynn Resorts’ foray into sports betting.
Wynn Is Spending Big Money on Promotions
Throughout the football season, Wynn Resorts is planning on spending nearly $100 million in advertising for their WynnBET app. This is definitely a major ad number, but also reflects the constantly inflating advertising dollars we’re starting to see with sports betting. DraftKings and FanDuel spent a combined $311 million on television advertisements alone last year. And that $311 million itself is triple what the companies spent the year prior. Don’t be too shocked to see those budgets continue to balloon with increasing legalization and awareness.
Wynn is also expected to be one of the official sports betting partners for the NFL, joining Fox Bet, PointsBet, and BetMGM. Considering the NFL’s long history of distancing itself from sports betting, this is a big step for all parties involved. There are even some reports of Wynn attempting a Super Bowl ad this season.
WynnBET is Banking on Celebrity Collabs
Like a number of other platforms in the sports betting arena, Wynn is putting a heavy emphasis on celebrity endorsements for their new sports betting app. This is pretty clear from their recently released advertisement, which features actor Ben Affleck, Hall of Fame NBA star Shaquille O’Neal, and actor Melvin Gregg. Randomly enough, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez’s mom, also makes a cameo as a casino goer.
WynnBet is hardly the first sportsbook to tap celebs for their advertisements. In addition to its commercials featuring actor Jamie Foxx, BetMGM signed former Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch as a brand ambassador in July. Trey Wingo just signed on as a brand ambassador for Caesars Sportsbook in August, while DraftKings just debuted a new ad campaign starring Martin Lawrence and a handful of other celebs.
What Makes WynnBET Different From the Competition?
Needless to say, WynnBET needs to stand apart from its many competitors. Sports bettors might already be loyal to DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, or any other app that caught their eye early on. So what makes WynnBET unique?
The big focus, as shown in the advertisement, is the social aspect of the app, especially interacting with other bettors. Plus, the app offers unique rewards such as casino bonuses at the Wynn and Encore in Las Vegas. The app is also looking to compete with the rest of the field by touting some special promos such as Monday Magic ($10 bonus bet for a $50 parlay on Mondays) and WynnBET Wednesday ($20 bonus bet when you bet $100 during the week on Wednesdays). WynnBET is currently available in Virginia, Arizona, Indiana, Colorado, New Jersey, Michigan, and Tennessee, with plans to continue expanding throughout the season.
