Alvin Kamara Fantasy Football Outlook & Value 2019

Don’t come into the 2020 fantasy football season unprepared! Prepare with our complete fantasy football rankings and projections. Even if you don’t play full season fantasy we can help with our NFL DFS projections. It may seem like a daunting task but with our tools you will be able to succeed vs the competition this season.

Alvin Kamara will be an extraordinarily exciting player to watch in 2019. With Mark Ingram exiting the Saints in the offseason, it’s likely that Kamara will get even more attention on the offensive side of things for the Saints. Last year, Ingram finished 29th in the league in rushing yards, so he was still carrying a lot of the Saints’ offensive production. Kamara, on the other hand, finished 18th overall in rushing yards with 883. He had 14 rushing TDs on the year which put him at second in the NFL. He averaged 4.6 yards per attempt on 194 gos.

The above tweet from Bleacher Report is of course a fun watch, but it really highlights the work Kamara is putting in this offseason. He had a breakout year last season for the Saints, and he obviously wants to preserve whatever it was that worked for him going into this season. 2019 will mark his third year with the Saints and in the NFL alike.

At Lineups, we have Kamara slotted at RB3 behind only Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey. There’s a lot of debate around whether McCaffrey or Kamara deserve that number two spot, but I think McCaffrey gets it simply because he’ll get more looks for the Panthers this year than Kamara will for the Saints. We have Kamara projected for 808.0 rushing yards on 165.6 rushing attempts and 10.03 TDs on the year. If anything, I expect Kamara to surpass these expectations during the 2019 campaign.

I like Kamara’s ceiling/floor going into this season. He’s a clear RB1 for the Saints on the year with Latavius Murray slotted at RB2. The way he’s performed in his first two seasons leads one to believe that he’ll at least hold his value from last year, barring injury of course. His ceiling is a more exciting prospect for me. As buzz around the NFL season is picking up, many are projecting Kamara to have a slight decline from his performance last year. I simply don’t believe this will be the case. Instead, I think we haven’t seen Kamara’s peak performance as of yet, and that this the 2019/20 campaign will be his best season to date.

New Orleans SaintsKamara currently has an average draft position of 1.03. He shares the 1.03 honor with Ezekiel Elliott, and the only RB with a better ADP is, of course, Saquon Barkley. His current auction value out of $200 is $49. Of the top 4 RBs, this is the best deal you can get. With Barkley at $65 and McCaffrey and Elliot at $55, Kamara is a better deal even if it’s by a slim margin. I also think his ADP of 1.03 is perfectly accurate. I’m expecting Kamara to continue to showcase his raw athleticism and talent this season.

The best thing about Kamara to me is the fact that he’s on the Saints. There’s something about being on a team with as much talent as the Saints have that brings out the best in players. Expect to see Kamara and the Saints have a big 2019/20.
