Contents
RB Mark Walton (MIA) vs. NYJ – 44.4% Rostered
Somewhat of a surprise, Walton was the clear starting running-back over Kallen Ballage. Walton saw 87% of snaps during week 8. Carrying the ball 11 times for 35 yards and catching 3 passes for 19 yards. Pittsburgh’s run defense ranking 12th on yards allowed and has allowed just 3.7 yards per carry this season. Facing the Jets defense, who is of a similar caliber, Walton will face another tough matchup. However, with Miami’s new competitive nature recently, the game script is expected to be in his favor. Vegas currently has the Jets -3, a fairly neutral game script. When Walton has seen a majority of snaps, he has averaged just under 4 yards per carry. Above players like Todd Gurley, David Johnson, and James Conner. Seeing 18% of the targets from Fitzpatrick last week, Walton is a sneaky streamer if you are desperate for another running-back during week 9.
WR Danny Amendola (DET) vs. OAK – 24.3% Rostered
The former New England Patriot has certainly been making a name for himself with his new team. During week 8 Amendola caught all 8 of his targets for 95 yards, averaging 11.9 yards per reception against the Giants. In the past two games Amendola has seen 19 targets, catching 16 of them for 200 yards during those 2 weeks. Amendola was tied for first in targets last week with 25%, second in targets during week 7 with 24%. Facing the Oakland Raiders in week 9, who rank 27th against opposing fantasy receivers. This secondary has been struggling mightily all season long. The Raiders have allowed the 11th most passing yards, 5th most yards per completion, and 3rd most passing touchdowns this season. A very vulnerable secondary presents a mouth-watering matchup for these Lions wide receivers. Amendola is a low-end WR2/flex option during week 9.
WR Chris Conley (JAX) vs. HOU – 18.1% Rostered
Conley caught 4 of 7 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown against the New York Jets, averaging an impressive 25.8 yards per reception. He had his second straight double-digit fantasy performance in a row, seeing 14 targets in the past 2 weeks. Conley leads the Jaguars wide receivers in team snap percentage with an average of 76.5% of snaps. He will be facing the Houston Texans during week 9, who rank 30th against opposing fantasy wide receivers. The Texans have allowed 10.8 yards per completion, they have also allowed the 2nd most passing yards, 4th most passing touchdowns, and lead the league in passing attempts this season. Conley is a solid WR2 this week against this lackluster Texans secondary.
WR DeVante Parker (MIA) vs. NYJ – 18% Rostered
Something I did not expect this season, recommending more than 1 Dolphins player for fantasy football. Parker has been leading this Dolphins team in nearly every statistical category including targets, receptions, and touchdowns. This Dolphins offense has seen an uptick in efficiency under QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is not afraid to air it out either. Fitz and Parker have found a connection recently, Parker has been targeted 18 times over the past 2 weeks. Averaging 14.3 yards per reception this season, above players like John Brown, Calvin Ridley, and Will Fuller. Seeing the Jets defense during week 9, who have been a good defense all season long but have shown some weaknesses as of late. Over the Past 3 games, the Jets have allowed an average of 268 passing yards, 1.33 passing touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Parker is a worthy of flex consideration this week.
QB Derek Carr (OAK) vs. DET – 32.5% Rostered
Carr has passed for nearly 300 yards over the past two weeks, throwing for 5 touchdowns during that time. The Raiders offense has been one of the most productive offenses this season but have seemingly been flying under the radar. Carr will face the Detroit Lions this Sunday, who rank 26th against opposing fantasy quarterbacks this season. The Lions have allowed the 8th most passing yards, 9th most passing touchdowns, and the 7th most yards per completion to opposing quarterbacks this season. A majority of Carr’s passing touchdowns this year have come from inside the red-zone. This season, the Lions have allowed 57.1% red-zone efficiency and 16 total red-zone touchdown. This matchup against the Lions presents a favorable one for this Raiders passing attack.
TE Dallas Goedert (PHI) vs. CHI – 32.1% Rostered
Goedert scored his 3rd touchdown on the season so far against the Buffalo Bills. Even out-targeting Ertz during week 8, receiving 21% of the target share. Seeing 75% of the snaps on offense, Goedert is definitely an important piece of this Philadelphia offense. Opposing defenses are seemingly keying onto Zach Ertz after that record setting season he had last year. Going up against the Chicago Bears’ defense that ranks 21st against opposing fantasy tight-ends this season. Goedert is a solid fill-in piece if you are in need of a tight-end this week.
