This is a pretty brutal bye week, and it leaves a lot of mediocre quarterbacks on the slate. No surprise to see Lamar Jackson top the list, even against a tougher Rams defense that ranks 10th against quarterbacks. Jackson is averaging over 25 fantasy points per game, and is doing it in various ways. He has 19 touchdowns through the air, and six on the ground. He is completing 66% of his passes as well. Russell Wilson will travel east against Philly, who have been a middle of the road pass defense. Wilson has been a strong fantasy option most weeks, averaging 24.3 fantasy points per game. This is second among quarterbacks. Matt Ryan gets a major bump for me, averaging 295 passing yards per game and has 18 touchdowns. He gets a 31st ranked pass defense at home versus Tampa. All the Falcons passing game options among the top. After a rough week, expect DeShaun Watson to bounce back against Indy and at home. He is averaging 22.5 fantasy points per game this season. As far as names that scare me a bit due to the matchup are Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, and Aaron Rodgers. They will all face strong pass defenses, and two of them are on the road.

Tough matchup for Christian McCaffrey this week, as the Saints are a top ten run defense. However, he is averaging over 30 PPR points per game this season, and his volume is going to be solid no matter what. Nick Chubb and Derrick Henry are strong options this week. Jacksonville continues to be gashed by the run, and we saw that again this past week with the Colts have two 100+ yard rushers. Henry is coming off the bye week and has been decimating bad run defenses. Chubb will get Miami, and the volume is going to be around 20 touches with room for more. He is averaging 5.0 yards per attempt, and Miami is one of the easier defenses to target. Alvin Kamara looked extremely healthy this week, and will now get Carolina, who rank dead last against the past. Some middling names pop out this week like Phillip Lindsay. Buffalo ranks 21st against the run, and this should be a slugfest style game where Lindsay can get 15+ touches in this spot. There are some tough matchups this week for Todd Gurley, Cris Carson, Aaron Jones, and the Atlanta backfield.

Michael Thomas continues to just blow the doors off the position, and comes into the week at the top again. However we can point to the Atlanta wide receiver options, as Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley are both in prime spots. Tampa Bay are allowing the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. There are a lot of wideouts on bye this week, but hopefully Tampa Bay can step up and provide fantasy value after a lackluster showing against the Saints. The Cowboys matchup is going to be tough, as the Patriots continue to stifle opposing offenses. Don’t shy away from the Jacksonville Jaguars wideouts, as the Titans defense is dealing with major injuries. They have also played fairly poorly on defense before the bye. Jeff Driskel has been serviceable enough to give the Lions wideouts a sense of hope without Matthew Stafford. Getting Washington this week is also a plus for them. Cleveland is in an overall smash spot if they can keep their foot on the pedal.

We will have to keep watching George Kittle’s status, as this week is going to be tough due to the byes. Travis Kelce and Hunter Henry are the major names on bye this week. Zach Ertz is getting all the shine right now as the Eagles are very limited with pass-catching options. Both him and Dallas Goedert are viable against Seattle, who have struggled against tight ends this season. There are not a ton of glaring good spots, but volume is where we can find Darren Waller and Mark Andrews to be reliable options. If you are in need of a streaming option or bye week fill-in, TJ Hockenson isn’t in a bad spot against Washington, and while Buffalo is a tough matchup, Noah Fant has been getting a ton of targets of late.

Teams allowing the most field goal attempts this season are Cincinnati, Denver, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles Rams, and Baltimore. Detroit, Arizona, Houston, and Philadelphia are a few other teams worth targeting with kickers, as they give up a lot of volume. Teams that give up the least amount of volume are New England, New Orleans, San Francisco, Oakland, and Minnesota. Volume is ultimately what you want each week. Finding kickers on offenses that move the ball is always a plus for fantasy points at the position. Efficiency would come next.

The Patriots and 49ers have averaged the most fantasy points per game this season, and will have their hands full against better offenses this week. While I believe they will put up a steady game, I have a few other defenses ranked higher. Pittsburgh especially, as they the defense is the reason why they are 5-5. They have averaged 3.4 sacks per game, and have forced 2.6 turnovers per game this season. They also face Cincinnati. The Saints are another one at home, where they get Carolina, who are struggling with Kyle Allen under center. That upside is there. Chicago, Buffalo, and Cleveland are some of the other top options on the week.
