Week 12 TE Rankings PPR: Tight End Fantasy Stats & Projections

The people of lineups.com have worked tirelessly to bring you are brand new fantasy football rankings for the 2020 NFL season. Along with these rankings we bring you our projections, stats, and defensive rankings. These are the tools you will need for a good season and we hope you check them out.

The top echelon of the fantasy tight end rankings is finally starting to solidify. Austin Hooper, George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, and Hunter Henry have played consistently well as TE1s for the majority of the games they’ve played. In spite of their inconsistency or injury concerns, Zach Ertz, Evan Engram, and Darren Waller have also been productive fantasy tight ends. Moreover, Kyle Rudolph and Jacob Hollister are also emerging quality options for fantasy owners desperate for a tight end. As the season winds to an end, fantasy owners would be wise to make a move for one of the ten tight ends listed above.

Studs:

Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce was the top-performing fantasy tight end for week 11. He recorded 10 targets, hauled in seven catches for 92 yards and caught a touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers. Kelce has been an elite fantasy tight end this entire season and currently leads all TEs in total fantasy points. Kelce fantasy owners will be disappointed that he’s on a bye this weekend, but he’s definitely been one of the best selections this season.

Ryan Griffin

For the second time this year, Ryan Griffin scored more than 20 fantasy points. Griffin caught all five of his targets for 109 yards and a touchdown against the dreadful Washington Redskins. Griffin heads into a week 12 matchup against a generous Oakland Raiders defense that is allowing the third-most fantasy points to tight ends. For the majority of this year, Ryan Griffin has been an extremely risky fantasy option with a lot of volatility. Therefore, he is mainly a TD or bust candidate with a higher upside than most waiver wire adds.

Zach Ertz

After three straight weeks of low fantasy production, Zach Ertz has responded with two consecutive weeks of high fantasy output. Ertz saw 11 targets and finished with nine receptions for 94 yards against the daunting New England Patriots defense. He is averaging nearly 22 fantasy points since week nine and is on pace to continue his hot streak against a slightly generous Seahawks defense. Given the fact that Ertz is getting back into a rhythm, he is back to being a TE2 option with a high ceiling.

Kyle Rudolph

After a slow six weeks to start to the season, Kyle Rudolph has transformed himself into a top 10 fantasy tight end. Against the Denver Broncos, Rudolph converted all five of his targets into catches for 67 yards and a TD. He has scored ten or more fantasy points in four of his last five games, with three of those performances coming in consecutive weeks. Even though Rudolph is a red zone monster who makes the most of his target share, he is mainly a TD or bust candidate with TE2 status.

Mark Andrews

This season, Mark Andrews has solidified himself as an elite fantasy tight end. He is the third-highest scoring tight end option according to ESPN fantasy and is coming off a terrific game with four catches, 78 yards, and a TD. Andrews leads all Ravens pass-catchers in terms of yards and receptions. Moreover, Andrews is tied for the league lead in terms of TDs for tight ends. Andrews is obviously Lamar Jackson’s favorite target and will be a TE1 for the rest of the year.

Duds:

Gerald Everett

Gerald Everett was unable to get anything going in his contest against the Chicago Bears. While Everett’s output (one catch for 20 yards) is a let down for fantasy owners, it’s far from his fault. Rams QB Jared Goff struggled mightily against the Bears, only throwing for 173 yards and one interception. Both Everett and Goff are fantasy players whose production is dependent on their matchup, so expect them to struggle when they take on a tough Baltimore Ravens secondary.

Darren Fells

Darren Fells was a significant disappointment against the Baltimore Ravens, finishing with three targets, one catch and 18 yards. Fells hasn’t been able to get anything going since week 8 and hasn’t had consistent weeks of success since week 6. The Colts are middle of the pack when it comes to restricting TE fantasy points, so his week 12 matchup is neither beneficial or worrisome. Fells is a still a great red-zone target but is mainly limited to a TD or bust candidate with high upside.

T.J. Hockenson

Since coming off a bye in week five, T.J. Hockenson has been held below ten fantasy points for six straight weeks. Hockenson is coming off his worst game in over a month, only receiving two targets, one catch and six yards. It has become incredibly clear that Hockenson is falling out of favor in offensive coordinator Darren Bevell’s offense, and isn’t on Jeff Driskel’s radar. Hockenson is way below the top three of the Lions’ target share and is averaging less than five points per game since Driskel took over in Matthew Stafford’s absence. Therefore, it’s definitely time to cut bait with the rookie tight end.

Bounce back:

Darren Waller

For the first time in almost a month, Darren Waller reached double-digit fantasy points and received his highest target amount since week eight. During his contest against the Cincinnati Bengals, Waller recorded five catches for 78 yards and received seven targets. While Waller’s last game is a promising sign that he’s still an integral pass catcher for the Raiders, he’s only a TE2 option as of now.

Under the radar:

Jacob Hollister

If you haven’t scooped up Jacob Hollister yet, this week might be your last to do so. According to ESPN Fantasy Football, Hollister is only owned by 15% of leagues even though he has scored 19+ points in consecutive weeks. Hollister’s fantasy output and target share have increased consistently over his last three games as he is becoming a significant part of the Seahawks offense. It’s too early to call him a TE2 option yet, but he has a high probability of becoming one if he can ball out against the Philadelphia Eagles.
