Week 13 Kicker Waiver Wire Pickups & Adds: Bass Is Still Rocking

Younghoe Koo is establishing himself as the best fantasy kicker in the league with yet another big game. He hit all five field-goal attempts, one from 50+ yards, in addition to four extra points. The Falcons felts like scoring a bunch, and Koo highly benefited off of it. If Koo’s ownership does not spring into the high 90%’s, then I do not know what you all are doing. Graham Gano was also busy with four field-goal attempts. He converted on all of them with two from over 40 yards. Jason Sanders is still making a run for the top kicker with two 50-yard field goals last week, paired with two extra points. With an odd week, we still have week 12 going with a game on Wednesday, but it is still time to look towards next week with a few kickers that you should be adding to your team if you are streaming kickers. With this being the last week of the regular season for most fantasy leagues, you are either looking to getting a kicker to roll through the playoffs with or one that will boost you into the playoffs with a win this week. Whatever the case may be, here are some of the best options for you.

Tyler Bass, Buffalo Bills

Opponent: San Francisco 49ers
Own %: 22.3

Tyler Bass has emerged quickly as one of the best kickers as of recently with tons of field goal opportunities along with constant extra points to keep a floor. After a bit of a shaky start with a few missed attempts, he has been far better with just one miss over the last four games even though he is attempting more per game. He has scored in the double-digits over the last three games with another golden opportunity again this coming week. The 49ers have been rather favorable for kickers and have let up at least 20 points in each of the last four games. With the roll Bass has been on, there is no sign of him slowing down as he attempts to break into the top five kickers.

Graham Gano, New York Giants

Opponent: Seattle Seahawks
Own %: 9.1

Graham Gano’s ownership is through the floor right now despite being a top-five kicker in the league. In three straight games, he has hit at least two field goals and an extra point which is an automatic seven points plus any distance on the field goals. His consistency of getting chances topped off by his ability to convert on every attempt has made him a valuable kicker. It will be interesting to see how the offense works without Daniel Jones running the head, but there will still likely come field goal opportunities, maybe a few from long distance as they will likely struggle to push the ball deep into enemy territory. The Seahawks are a completely average matchup for kickers, but the upside is great with Gano even without his starting quarterback.

Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks

Opponent: New York Giants
Own %: 20.5

Jason Myers has seen a huge increase in productivity ever since the Seahawks’ bye week in week 6. The Seahawks have never stopped scoring touchdowns in bulk but he is getting a bigger load of field goal opportunities. He has had at least two in each of the past four weeks with two of those weeks containing three attempts. He has only missed two extra points all season long, so he is money when he gets the chance. Myers is a great pick for teams entering the playoffs as he has games against three bad defenses in a row with the Giants this week, the Jets next week, and Washington the following week. All three should provide great outcomes for fantasy owners and his low ownership almost ensures his availability for you.

Greg Zuerlein, Dallas Cowboys

Opponent: Baltimore Ravens
Own %: 31.5

Greg Zuerlein is a good kicker to pick up for the playoffs. Andy Dalton’s return has played favorably towards Zuerlein as the scoring opportunities have come with him. 12 field goal attempts over the last four games is a major improvement from how the season began. The matchups are what makes Zuerlein a great option. The Ravens are the not-so-good matchup before a string of great matchups for the fantasy playoffs. They face the Bengals, 49ers, and Eagles who are all in the top 10 of allowing the most points to kickers. If you are able to make a run, Zuerlein is one of the best waiver wire options to pick up before the playoffs start. If you still need to clinch a spot, you can risk waiting another week, but if you have it locked up, might as well get ahead of the pack with a solid kicker moving forward.

Dan Bailey, Minnesota Vikings

Opponent: Jacksonville Jaguars
Own %: 4.0

Dan Bailey has been relatively useless this season in terms of fantasy purposes just because the Vikings only know how to score touchdowns when they get into enemy territory. Last week though, he hit two field goals with one from 50+ yards. The main reason for playing Bailey this week is the matchup. The Jaguars have allowed the third-most points per game and the most points to kickers. Needless-to-say, the Vikings should be running up the score this week which means a boatload of points for Bailey whether that be mostly through extra points or a couple of field goals. Either way, this is making to be one of the best weeks for Bailey. If you are moving into the playoffs and you have to hold on to your roster, then stay away, but for those who need a single good game, Bailey is a good option.

Stephen Gostkowski, Tennessee Titans

Opponent: Cleveland Browns
Own %: 33.4

Stephen Gostkowski has paired together a string of good games over the past two weeks with a perfect conversion percentage. He made all three field-goal attempts two weeks ago and picked up a ton of points with extra points last week with one 40+ yard field goal. We have seen Gostkowski hit six of six attempts earlier in the season and the Browns are a team who can give up 30+ points in a game. The Jaguars managed to score 25 points last week despite playing without one of their top offensive weapons. The Titans’ offense ran rampant last week, and the Browns should be no match for them, leading to a lot of scoring opportunities for Gostkowski.
