Week 13 Team Defense Rankings & Projection
Week 12 defenses popped off for big scores. The Falcons took the cake with a 27 fantasy point outing against Derek Carr and the Raiders. Carolina, San Francisco, Washington, Los Angeles, Houston, Green Bay, Miami, and New York all had over ten fantasy points. We also saw both Chicago and Indianapolis go into the negatives, which was somewhat surprising given how they have played this season. The Saints had a major advantage facing the Broncos this week, who had three quarterbacks out and had to start a wide receiver who used to play quarterback. It went as expected. Looking ahead at Week 13, this could be another stacked week for defensive scoring. Several defenses project very well and there are a few middling defenses in good spots. This will be perfect for those who need to replace the Bucs defense on bye and those who have been streaming.

Week 13 Top Options
The Steelers have had an up and down week with the Ravens game being pushed to Tuesday. This game still remains to be played but at the moment they have the most fantasy points of any defense. Pittsburgh has 38 sacks in ten games and 21 takeaways. They get Washington this week, who have allowed 35 sacks and the 8th most fantasy points per game to defenses. This is a matchup where they should continue to bolster their lead as the top-scoring defense. Miami has cruised in the fantasy department of late, and are now 5th in scoring this season. The great set of matchups continues for them as they face Cincinnati Bengals, who are helpless without Joe Burrow. They are allowing the 6th most fantasy points per game to defenses, and that was with Burrow starting. New York was able to put up a big score and Miami’s defense is in form.
There wasn’t a luckier defense than New Orleans last week as they faced Denver who was rolling out running backs and wide receivers at quarterback this week because they had nobody else. New Orleans has been on a roll of late and over the last five games they have 19 sacks and ten takeaways, They have also allowed just 72 points. In this span, they are allowing 48.4 rushing yards per game. The Ravens are in a bad spot trying to stop the virus from within their team and this game is still intact despite all the chaos but it was pushed back to Monday to give us another doubleheader.
Streaming Options
The Chicago Bears (58%) are coming off a dreadful game against the Packers, and many defenses have been in that spot against Aaron Rodgers. They are in a bounce-back spot against the Lions this week, who have allowed the 11th most fantasy points to defenses on the year. Kenny Golladay may or may not be back and the same goes for D’Andre Swift, but this team is struggling. Chicago is still a strong defense and worth a look. Sticking in the NFC North, the Green Bay Packers (44%) get the eagles this week. They are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to defenses. The offensive line is in rough shape and has allowed 40 sacks in ten games and likely more to come against Seattle.
While Denver should have their quarterback situation under control, but that doesn’t change that they are allowing 8.9 fantasy points per game to opposing defenses. The Chiefs (43%) step in this week in a primetime game and the Chiefs defense is in a very good spot. They are top-ten in scoring among fantasy defenses this season and they have the 7th most points over the last five games. While it wasn’t a good game for the Raiders (3%) this week, this is your deep-league streaming option if you are desperate for an option. They face the Jets, who have allowed the 9th most fantasy points to defenses this season.
Defenses To Avoid
The Giants were a defense picked up this week and this is not a week to continue that stretch. They face Seatle which is a good offense that has really allowed a majority of their points to defenses in a few games. I expect Russell Wilson to have a strong game and the Giants to struggle a bit, even though they have had a solid year in the fantasy point department. The projections like the Browns a little bit, but I do not. Opposing defenses have averaged the fewest fantasy points per game against the Titans on the season. Ryan Tannehill does not turn the ball over and he does not take sacks.
