Last week, the Buccaneers took over as the best defense of the week. They held the Jaguars to just 11 points against while also forcing four turnovers with a fumble recovery for a touchdown and obtaining 5 sacks. With back to back weeks with above average and quite unexpected performances, they may be a viable fantasy defense moving forward. I will be going through my top waiver wire adds at defense for the week. Whether your streaming or have your main defense with a tough matchup this week, here are some defense you will want to consider for Week 14. All defenses that I choose are under 60% ownership in fantasy leagues.

Green Bay Packers

Opponent: Washington Redskins
Own %: 24

Green Bay PackersThe Packers started hot for the first three weeks of the season and have gone cold since then until last week. Last week, they held the Giants to 13 points while picking off Daniel Jones three times. The Packers get an easy game this week against the Redskins. The Redskins have been the worst offense in the league and have the worst points per game. Their switch to Dwayne Haskins as their quarterback was more out of looking to the future and take the hit today. They have really taken a hit recently which sets up the Packers’ defense nicely.

New York Jets

Opponent: Miami Dolphins
Own %: 34.7

New York JetsThe Jets continue to stand out defensively with their offense struggling. They gave the Bengals their first win of the season last game, but they still only gave up 20 points. The week before, they had two turnovers with a touchdown while only giving up 3 points to the Raiders. The Dolphins rank below the Raiders in terms of scoring. The Dolphins did have a spike last week where they scored 37 on the Eagles, but that is likely to never happen again. The Jets have only allowed more than 30 points when they have played the Patriots.

Tennessee Titans

Opponent: Oakland Raiders
Own %: 31.7

Tennessee TitansThe Titans may be one of the most consistent fantasy defense with always getting a decent amount of points. They have gotten at least one turnover in every game except for one. They have held teams to 20 or below in 9 out of 12 games. Last week, they picked up their third touchdown of the season with a blocked field goal for a touchdown. The Raiders have enormously struggled recently. Last week, they scored 9 points, and the week before they scored 3. With the Titans hot and the Raiders cold, this is a good game to have the Titans’ defense for.

Los Angeles Chargers

Opponent: Jacksonville Jaguars
Own %: 34.1

Los Angeles ChargersThe Chargers have been a great defense if you want some points every week. They haven’t had many exceptional games but average just 20.1 points against them per game. This matchup is good for the reason that the Jaguars are on a bad streak. They have now lost four games in a row and during that span only scored an average of 11.75 points per game. Last week, Leonard Fournette ran for just 38 yards with an average of 2.7 yards per carry. With the Jags’ offense looking miserable, the Chargers are a good selection this week.

Dallas Cowboys

Opponent: Chicago Bears
Own %: 42.5

Dallas CowboysAfter a lot of great games for the Cowboys earlier in the season, their schedule became tougher. They get another break this week with the Bears. The Bears’ offense averages just 17.3 points per game which is fourth-worst in the league. Over the past three games, the Cowboys have picked up an average of three sacks per game which is a nice bonus for fantasy. The one downside for the Cowboys is their recent struggle to pick up turnovers. They’ve gone four straight games without any, but that just means they are due for a lot soon.

Indianapolis Colts

Opponent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Own %: 42

Indianpolis ColtsThe Colts are going against the interception machine, Jamies Winston. Winston has thrown 20 interceptions this season which is 5 more than the next highest amount. He is throwing almost two per game. The Colts have been raking in turnovers over the past few weeks. They had have acquired eight in the past five weeks. There is almost a guarantee that they will be adding to that this week with a couple more. They also had six sacks last week which is a good sign moving into this game.
