Week 14 Fantasy Football Notable Injuries: Julio Jones out again
The first week of fantasy football playoffs is upon us and many elite players will not participate this week. After having possibly reinjuring his hamstring from week 12, Julio Jones was declared out for this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers. Christian McCaffrey suffered a new injury to his thigh at practice after dealing with his shoulder injury. Will Joe Mixon or George Kittle come off of injured reserve before it’s too late? Find out who is out and who is in for week 14 of the NFL season.
Contents
Chicago Bears vs. Houston Texans
David Johnson (COVID): David Johnson has hit the COVID reserve list and will not play this weekend. Duke Johnson will take over for him.
Brandin Cooks (Q): Brandin Cooks has been dealing with a foot injury that has left him questionable this weekend. He should play considering he has practiced in a limited way this week.
Keke Coutee (Q): Keke Coutee was dealing with a knee injury but he practiced in full on Friday. He should suit up on Sunday.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys
Joe Mixon (IR): Joe Mixon is currently expected to return next week from IR with a foot injury. The question remains, do the Bengals see value in bringing back their star running back when they are destined not to make the playoffs? Giovanni Bernard will continue the haul.
Ezekiel Elliott (Q): Ezekiel Elliot is still questionable after sustaining a calf injury this week and remaining limited in practice. If he cannot go, Tony Pollard will take the load in the backfield.
Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Salvon Ahmed (O): Salvon Ahmed will be out for the third straight week this season with a shoulder injury. Luckily, Myles Gaskin is not going into the weekend with the injury designation he carried all week.
New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals
Daniel Jones (Q): Daniel Jones practiced in full on Friday, which is a great sign for his availability on Sunday. If he does not play this weekend, Colt McCoy will take over the duties as he did in their win against Seattle.
Kenyan Drake (Q): Kenyan Drake is questionable with a hip injury and was limited in practice on Friday. If he cannot go, Chase Edmonds will take the reign in the backfield.
Deandre Hopkins (Q): DeAndre Hopkins is questionable with a neck injury this week. But, ESPN reported that coach Kliff Kingsbury said he expects Hopkins to play.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Minnesota Vikings
Kyle Rudolph (D): Kyle Rudolph is doubtful to play this week because of a foot injury.
Irv Smith Jr (Q): Irv Smith is questionable to play this week with a back injury that has kept him out the past two games.
Carolina Panthers vs. Denver Broncos
Christian McCaffrey (D): Christian McCaffrey suffered a new thigh injury this week in practice. His status is unclear for next week, but Mike Davis will continue to run the backfield while he is out.
D.J. Moore (COVID): D.J Moore has reached the COVID reserve list and will not play on Sunday. Without him, Curtis Samuel and Robby Anderson should see more targets in the passing game.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans
Tyler Eifert (Q): Tyler Eifert is a possible streamer for this week, but questionable with a shoulder injury. He did practice on Friday, so he should be good to play. The Titans do allow the ninth-most fantasy points to tight ends this season, so he could have a solid week.
Adam Humphries (IR): Adam Humphries is expected to return from injured reserve during week 17 after having suffered a concussion. Corey Davis, who put up the most fantasy points for wide receivers last week, and A.J Brown should see more targets.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Indianapolis Colts
Josh Jacobs (Q): Josh Jacobs was kept out last week due to the ankle injury he is suffering now. He did practice on Friday, but the owners of him should watch his status through the weekend. Devontae Booker would take over in his absence.
Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Jets
Jamison Crowder (Q): Jamison Crowder is questionable this weekend with a calf injury. He did practice on Friday in a limited fashion.
Denzel Mims (Q): Denzel Mims is out this weekend with a personal matter.
Frank Gore (Q): Frank Gore is questionable for this weekend with a concussion he had last weekend. If he does not play, Ty Johnson will fill in for him. Johnson scored nearly 20 points in Gore’s absence last week.
Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers
Kenny Golladay (O): Kenny Golladay is out for this weekend against the Packers with a hip injury. He has not played a game since week 8 of this season. More targets for T.J Hockenson and Marvin Jones Jr. should come in Golladay’s absence this week.
Matthew Stafford (Q): Matthew Stafford is questionable for Sunday with a thumb injury. Knowing how tough Matthew Stafford is, he will most likely play. If he does not play for some reason Chase Daniel will take over in his place.
D’Andre Swift (Q): D’Andre Swift is questionable with an illness but he has practiced this week. If he does not go, Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson will lead the backfield. Both of them made the top 20 in fantasy standings last week in Swift’s absence.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints
All good for fantasy players!
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Atlanta Falcons
Julio Jones (O): Julio Jones is out for this week with a hamstring injury he has been dealing with for weeks. He was kept out of week 12 with it, but he did suit up last week. He is expected to return next week. For this week, more targets for Russell Gage and Calvin Ridley will come.
Washington Football Team vs. San Francisco 49ers
Antonio Gibson (O): Antonio Gibson is out this week with a toe injury. J.D McKissic is a great fantasy option for owners that need a quick starting running backs. Peyton Barber will most likely be a big part of the backfield in Gibson’s absence too.
Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
All good for fantasy players!
Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens
Austin Hooper (Q): Austin Hooper is questionable for this week against Baltimore with a neck injury. He did not practice on Friday and joined the injury report that day, so his status does not look well for Monday night. Harrison Bryant and David Njoku will probably take over. Harrison Bryant led tight endpoints in week 7, so he could be a viable starter.
