If you are more of a daily fantasy guy we have you covered as well with our NFL DFS projections. We have everything you need for a winning 2020 season.

It was a weird fantasy football week when it came to defenses. We saw some poor weather games aid the defensive potential, and some bad defenses came out on top. Tampa Bay was the highest scoring defense on the week, and both the Colts and Titans also thrived against each other. New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Washington were some of the other top options. The Bears put up a dud for the second week in a row, while Cleveland, Philadelphia, and the New York Jets were the big disappointments. You can find our season long rankings here.

Week 14 Top Options

Minnesota VikingsThe Packers are back in the top option category this week as they will have a home matchup against the Redskins. While Washington won this past week, offensively they didn’t do much. The Redskins have allowed 40 sacks on the season, and have turned the ball over 20 times on the year. Green Bay came through against New York, and are in a matchup where they can again. The Browns season is ultimately over now, but will have a strong matchup against the Bengals, who continue to give up a ton of sacks, and are allowing 9.3 fantasy points per game to opposing defenses. Minnesota is my lock this week, as they will not make the same mistake Chicago made, where they were lazy to open the game. Detroit is still down to a third string quarterback, and will not be able to run on the Vikings defense. Minnesota’s offense will also thrive against a struggling Detroit defense putting more of an emphasis to keep up. Watching Arizona put up a dud against the Rams is going to cause some eyes to go to Pittsburgh this week. Arizona hasn’t been a great matchup for opposing defenses in the past, but the last few weeks they have gone off the tracks.

Streaming Options

Green Bay PackersWeirdly, Chicago has not allowed a ton of defensive production to opposing defenses this season, but I do like the matchup for Dallas this week. Mitch Trubisky is always good for a few turnovers, and the rushing attack continues to be below average. While Dallas hasn’t been a great fantasy defense, the Bears implied total is one of the lowest on the slate. The Packers are the top streaming defense, as highlighted above. It is going to be tough to rely on the Jets, Chargers, and Titans again. However, Tennessee does have Oakland who imploded against the Chiefs this weekend. This will be a big game for playoff implications. New York is a dart throw with upside, the problem is the pass defense is horrific, and Miami’s pass offense has been able to move the ball of late. If you are in deeper leagues and don’t have a strong matchup, the Jets are worth a look given the upside is there.

Top Defenses In Tough Spots

San Francisco 49ersNew Orleans has allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing defenses this season, and no team has scored more than eight fantasy points against them this season. The 49ers defense is one of the best, but this is just a tough matchup against a strong offensive line that doesn’t give up many sacks, nor does this team turn the ball over. The Bears struggled against Detroit, and the run defense continues to be below average over the last few games. This is a concern against Dallas, who have allowed the third fewest fantasy points per game to opposing defenses this season. The Rams and Seahawks games have generally been low scoring in prior days, but the last tree meetings, the Rams and Seahawks have both averaged over 30 points per game, and between the two there have only been 1.9 turnovers. I am going to avoid these two defenses this week. Kansas City has not looked great offensively the past two weeks, despite putting up their share of points. Overall the big plays have been down. They will take on New England this week, who struggled against Houston last week. They will be dropped down quite a bit in the rankings. On the flip side of that game, New England doesn’t turn the ball over enough for some Kansas City upside. I’ll also have a hard time buying into the Bills against Baltimore this week, as the Ravens have allowed the 7th fewest fantasy points per game to opposing defenses.
