After a hectic week for wide receivers, I will be going over my rankings for the coming week. Big Week 13

DeVante Parker was the big stand out of the week with his first huge game of the season. He has been the top target for the Dolphins all year but had yet to actually break out since their offense is so bad. Parker hauled in seven receptions on the day for 159 yards and two touchdowns. This is just the second time all season that Parker had hit the 100 yard threshold and first multi-touchdown game. 7 receptions tied his season-high in receptions. The past three games for Parker have been among his best with 135 yards, 91 yards, and 159 yards. The difference is he added two touchdowns to the 159 yards to give him the best game of any receiver for the week. Alshon Jeffery also hit 100 yards this week. He caught 9 of Wentz’s passes for 137 yards and one touchdown. After sitting out for the past two weeks, it was nice for the Eagles to have Jeffery back as they were lacking in receiver depth. With most of the focus of the defense going on Zach Ertz, Jeffery was able to exploit the poor Miami secondary and bring in his highest point total of the season which also marked the second-highest point total for the week among receivers.

Are The Bears Legit?

Both Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller had big games on Thanksgiving against the Lions. Robinson had 8 receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown while Miller had 9 receptions for 140 yards without a touchdown. The Lions have the third-worst pass coverage in the NFL, allowing 280.1 yards per game through the air. Robinson has now had back-to-back huge weeks for the Bears and is looking to be a viable option. Miller has been the lesser of the two in terms of fantasy but has also seen a rise in usage the past three weeks. Is the Bears’ offense finally back? As much as I want to say yes, I don’t think they are. The Bears have faced the Giants and the Lions for their past two matchups who both struggle against the pass which Trubisky was able to exploit. They face the Cowboys this coming week who serve as a much tougher battle. If Trubisky is able to power through this week and get the ball into the hands of either Robinson or Miller, then I would consider them a good option, but I would hold off this week with this tough matchup.

Good Matchups

Zach Pascal and the Colts have a great matchup this week against the Buccaneers. Week after week, the Bucs have let some receiver go completely off against them. Even the Jaguars, who struggled against the Bucs this week, had Dede Westbrook go for 60 yards on 5 receptions with a touchdown and a 2-point conversion. The Colts are a much better team than the Jaguars and will find better success. Most likely they will find success through Pascal, but I wouldn’t throw out the other Colts’ receivers. Last week, he had 7 receptions for 109 yards. Depending on the health of Parris Campbell and Chester Rodgers, he could be a serious start this week. I expect Courtland Sutton to have a big game this week against the Texans. The Texans have allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game and the fourth-most receiving touchdowns. There really isn’t another receiver on the Broncos that would take away any target share from him especially after they traded Emmanuel Sanders away. He had 74 yards and two touchdowns last week and I would like to see him replicate that type of game again this week.

Bad Matchups

Two of the top receivers in the league are in for a challenge this week. First off, Michael Thomas has to go up against the 49ers who have been the best pass defense in the NFL all season long. They average just 134.2 passing yards against them per game which is about 30 yards better than the next best team. Thomas is coming off his least productive game against the Falcons who normally allow tons of receiving yards. The combination of that with this tough matchup is going to make it difficult but if there was ever anyone that could easily overcome it, it would be Michael Thomas. The other top receiver is Tyreek Hill. Hill and the Chiefs travel to Foxboro to take on the Patriots this week who is the second-best pass coverage in the league behind the 49ers. They do hold the lead for passing touchdowns allowed with just 8 all year. Patrick Mahomes normally throws a ton every game so it will be interesting to see which side come out on top this week, but nonetheless, Hill’s game might be slowed down this week.
