Michael Thomas again showed why he is the top wide receiver in the league with another 100+ yard performance with an additional touchdown. With this coming against the 49ers, who have been the top pass defense in the league, it only makes this type of performance more respectable. I will provide my top-50 list of wide receivers for Week 15 as well as my projections for each player. I will go in-depth for some of the players who had a big week last week and some players to watch for going into this week. Here are my wide receiver rankings for Week 15.

Big Week 14
There were two receivers that stood out on teams that normally don’t throw for a lot of yards. The first is A.J. Brown. Brown finished the game against the Raiders with 153 yards on 5 receptions with two touchdowns. The Titans went on to score 42 points in this blow out game and Brown had a lot to do with it. This marks the third time Brown has eclipsed 100 yards. In my rankings, he has passed Corey Davis as the Titans’ number one receiver, and I would expect to see his target share increase. Emmanuel Sanders also busted out a huge game in a shootout against the Saints. He hauled in 7 receptions for 157 yards with a touchdown. On top of that, he also threw a touchdown pass. Ever since being traded to the 49ers, Sanders has taken over as the top receiver on the team. He is now above George Kittle as the 49ers’ leading receiver despite not being on the team the whole season. His next game against the Falcons provides a good matchup as the Falcons have allowed the ninth-most passing yards in the NFL. They have also allowed the seventh-most passing touchdowns so Sanders could find some success near the endzone as well.
Continued Success
With T.Y. Hilton’s injury still keeping him sidelined with no return date set, Zach Pascal is still the top receiving target for the Colts. He has proved his worth in the last two weeks. Against the Titans, Pascal caught 7 passes for 109 yards. His was the second time he hit the 100 yard mark this season. Last week against the Buccaneers, Pascal had 5 receptions for 74 yards but picked up a touchdown. For those two games, he has sat around 33% of the team’s total receiving yards which is quite high seeing how he was the number 3 receiver on the Colts to start the season. The Colts’ next matchup against the Saints provides a decent matchup. The Saints are one of the better run defenses in the league which has led teams to throw more. The Colts will probably attempt the same with Pascal being the top target.
Good Matchups
The Browns take on the Cardinals this week who have the worst pass defense in the NFL as of this week. Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. should stay very busy as the Cardinals average 294.2 passing yards per game. Landry was able to reel in 76 yards in the Browns’ last game while OBJ received just 39 yards. The Browns found more success on the ground that game which contributed to their low production relative to past weeks. With so much potential this week for both of them to have monster games, there’s no reason both shouldn’t be started. Kenny Golladay is also a receiver who no doubt should be started as he should every week. Last week, he was the only source of offense for the Lions against the Vikings. He had 6 receptions for 58 yards with a touchdown. While that was nothing crazy, it shows the big role he plays in the offense. This week, the Lions play a much friendlier Buccaneers’ defense that has allowed the second-most passing yards per game. They have also allowed the third-most passing touchdowns. With T.J. Hockenson out for the year, that means more targets towards Golladay.

Bad Matchups
Although the 49ers allowed Drew Brees to throw for 349 yards last week against them, they still are the top pass defense in the league and will likely fall back into place this coming week against the Falcons. I wouldn’t worry about Julio Jones, but there is a concern for Russell Gage. Calvin Ridley has been listed as out for the season so Gage will be the number two. Gage had just 2 receptions for 17 yards. In the time that Julio Jones sat out, he saw a spike in production which is likely to happen again without Ridley, but I would be cautious with him this week against the Niners. JuJu Smith-Schuster is currently listed as questionable with his knee injury. He is aiming towards returning to action, but even if he does, I wouldn’t put him in. He will still be limited nonetheless and it is against the Bills who hold the third-best pass defense in the NFL. His value would come out of touchdowns which the Bills have allowed the third-least of through the air. The risk involved with JuJu who has had a disappointing season is not worth the reward this week.
