Week 16 Kicker Rankings & Pickups: Justin Tucker To Finish The Season Strong

You may have reached the promised land of your fantasy football league this season and you wouldn’t want to go out because you played a kicker in a bad matchup. Week 16 is loaded with kicker options and quite a few good streaming plays as well. There are not a ton of bad matchups but certainly a few kickers in better spots. As we sit two weeks away from the regular season ending, it seems Younghoe Koo is going to end up the top-scoring kicker on the season. We also have a couple of new kickers up top like Tyler Bass and Rodrigo Blankenship.

Top Week 16 Kickers

Younghoe Koo is the top-scoring kicker on the season and while the chiefs don’t allow a ton of fantasy points to kickers, some of that can be chalked up to efficiency against them. Either way, this game is going to be a high scoring one, and kickers from both sides are strong options this week. Both Koo and Harrison Butker have been strong options this season. Butker is in a tremendous spot with the Chiefs implied total among the highest on the week. Justin Tucker has been excellent this season and he gets the Giant this week, who have allowed a shade over two field goal attempts per game this season. Tucker is 6th in fantasy scoring this season. Jason Sanders and Daniel Carlson square off this week and both rank inside the top-five in scoring. Sanders is coming off a dud game against New England, but is in a rebound spot as the Raiders defense is struggling. The Raiders have allowed the 7th highest fantasy points per game to opposing kickers this season.

Streaming Options

Tyler Bass (63%) is higher owned but my first option if I am streaming this week. Bass is coming off another solid game and has certainly benefitted from the fact the Bills offense moves the ball in bunches. New England is middle of the road in fantasy points allowed to kickers but he should see multiple opportunities this week.

Ryan Succop (29%) continues to be out there in just about every league. Tampa will face the Lions this week who have one of the worst defenses in the league and that means plenty of opportunity for Succop. He should notch 3-4 extra points and have a shot at a field goal or two. He is also on the road in Detroit. The Buccaneers are implied for 31.5 points.

Joey Slye (30%) has been one of the better scoring kickers this season. He is averaging 8.5 fantasy points per game and is out there in a majority of leagues. Washington is allowing kickers to score 7.2 fantasy points per game this season. Carolina’s offense might not have a ton of success this week but they should move the ball enough to get Slye a few attempts.

Tough Week 16 Kicking Matchups

Chris Boswell is in a tough spot this week against the Colts, who are in the top third in fantasy points allowed to kickers this season. The other aspect of Boswell struggling is the fact the Steelers offense has turned to mush the last few weeks. Boswell projects pretty low this week and I would avoid. Robbie Gould hasn’t been too bad this season and faces the Cardinals this week. Gould has been a boom or bust option and if there are limited options in your league then he is fine but I would find kickers with higher implied totals. Graham Gano faces the Ravens this week, who have allowed 21 field goal attempts in 14 games this season and kickers are averaging 4.5 fantasy points per game. New York‘s offense also isn’t one to move the ball at a quick or efficient pace either for multiple attempts.
