Week 16 Notable Fantasy Football Injuries: McCaffrey and Mixon likely done for the season

This week, fantasy owners will be without Christian McCaffrey and Joe Mixon again as they will likely be out for the year. However, George Kittle is making a return this week to the 49ers, and owners should take the chance of starting him this weekend. It is championship week for fantasy football and owners will need to be aware of who is in and who is out this weekend. Check out the notable injury report for each team’s best fantasy players for this week in the NFL.

Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Kenny Golladay (O): Kenny Golladay is out this weekend with a hip injury, and might be out next week too. He has been dealing with a plethora of injuries this season. Marvin Jones Jr. and Danny Amendola will see more targets this weekend.
Matthew Stafford (Q): Matthew Stafford had to leave last game with a rib injury he suffered two games ago. He has practiced this week, so he should be good to go for the weekend.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ronald Jones (COVID): Ronald Jones is still on the COVID reserve list this week, but he also received surgery on one of his fingers. He will not play, and Leonard Fournette should get the start after having two touchdowns last game.
Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers

Chase Edmonds (Q): Chase Edmonds is questionable with an ankle injury, but he has practiced this week. If he does play, he would be a flex option or a low-ceiling starter.
San Francisco 49ers
Deebo Samuel (O): Deebo Samuel is out this week with a hamstring injury. Kendrick Bourne and Brandon Aiyuk will get more targets this week.
Raheem Mostert (IR): Raheem Mostert was placed on injured reserve this week. Jeff Wilson Jr should get the majority of touches in the backfield.
Miami Dolphins

Las Vegas Riaders vs. Miami Dolphins

DeVante Parker (Q): DeVante Parker is questionable this week with a hamstring injury. However, he has been able to practice this week and should play barring any setbacks before the game.
Mike Gesicki (Q): Mike Gesicki is questionable with a shoulder injury this week, but like Parker, he has been able to practice.
Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears

James Robinson (Q): James Robinson is questionable for this Sunday against the Bears with an ankle injury. He has not practiced this week and is in serious danger of not playing. Dare Ogunbowale would see the start, but should not in fantasy.
Chicago Bears
Allen Robinson (Q): Allen Robinson is questionable with a hamstring injury that kept him out of practice on Thursday. Owners will need to watch his status carefully going into the weekend.
Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons

Tyreek Hill (Q): Tyreek Hill is questionable with a hamstring, but was able to practice this week. He should play this weekend.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire (D): Clyde Edwards-Helaire is doubtful for this weekend after needing to be carried out of the stadium last game for a high ankle sprain. Le’Veon Bell will get the start but is not worth the start for fantasy.
Atlanta Falcons
Julio Jones (O): Julio Jones is out with a hamstring injury this week. Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage Jr. should see most of the targets this weekend in the passing game.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Giants

Marquise Brown (Q): Marquise Brown is questionable with a knee injury for this weekend and he did not practice on Thursday. He and Mark Andrews are really the only receivers worth having in the Ravens passing game for fantasy.
Cincinnati Bengals

Houston Texans vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Mixon (IR): Joe Mixon will continue to stay on injured reserve and is “expected” to return next week, while that sounds very unlikely. Giovani Bernard is worth the start in fantasy leagues against the Texans’ rough rushing defense.
Tyler Boyd (Q): Tyler Boyd is questionable for this weekend with a concussion. He did not practice this week, which is not a good sign. Tee Higgins or A.J Green will see more targets this weekend.
Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos

Hunter Henry (COVID): Hunter Henry was placed on the COVID reserve list and will not play this weekend.
Keenan Allen (Q): Keenan Allen is questionable with a hamstring injury that has kept him out of practice this week. Last week, he told his owners to start him but left his owners with just 2.6 fantasy points.
washington football team 1

Washington Football Team vs. Carolina Panthers

Terry McLaurin (Q): Terry McLaurin is questionable this week with an ankle injury that kept him out of practice on Thursday. Owners should watch his status going into the weekend.
Antonio Gibson (Q): Antonio Gibson has missed the past two weeks with an injury to his toe. He has practiced this week but is still questionable.
Carolina Panthers
Christian McCaffrey (D): Christian McCaffrey did not practice this week with a thigh injury and will most likely not play this weekend. Tough year for the consensus number one draft pick for fantasy football.
Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Ezekiel Elliott (Q): Ezekiel Elliot has practiced all week with his calf injury and should play this Sunday. He might split touches, however, with Tony Pollard after Pollard put up the most fantasy points for running backs last week.
Los Angeles Rams

Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams

Cam Akers (O): Cam Akers is out this week with an ankle injury. Darrel Henderson and Malcolm Brown should handle the backfield.
Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers vs. Tennessee Titans

Aaron Jones (Q): Aaron Jones has been dealing with a late toe injury that he suffered during the week, but he has been practicing.
Allen Lazard (Q): Allen Lazard has been working with an abdomen injury that has left him questionable this week.
Tennessee Titans
A.J. Brown (Q): A.J Brown is questionable with an ankle injury that has kept him out of practice this week. Corey Davis would see more targets without him as the other viable fantasy option.
Jonnu Smith (Q): Jonnu Smith is questionable with a knee injury that has sidelined him this week during practice. Anthony Firksker would be a possible fantasy option as the only tight end in Tennessee.

New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills

All set for championship week of fantasy football!

Post
I have played football, baseball, hockey, golf, and basketball separately when I was young. Now I run cross country and track for DePaul University. My favorite part about sport is the mental strength. I am a big fan of all of the Chicago sports teams that don’t end in “Cubs.”
