Heading into what should be the championship matchup for your fantasy league (becuase who plays their championship in week 17). Having a stud quarterback is a great asset to have on a fantasy football team. Having Lamar Jackson is a massive advantage over someone who took Aaron Rodgers in the draft. A tactic that a lot of people employ with their fantasy team is streaming at the position. Streaming is a risky but rewarding position due to the small gap of production between a mid-range QB1 and QB2. Below you will find a list of the top 25 quarterbacks ranked for week 16 along with their team, week 16 opponent, ownership %, FAAB, and their projected fantasy points for the week. All statistics used in this article can be found on our website at https://www.lineups.com/nfl.

Quarterbacks to Boom:

It is no surprise to see names like Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, and Deshaun Watson near the top of the list. One name that may surprise some fantasy players is the mistake-prone Jameis Winston. The quarterback who leads the league in interceptions is actually the 5th best fantasy quarterback on the season. With his gunslinging mentality, Bruce Arians high flying offense, and weapons like Chris Godwin and Mike Evans this season Winston was a fantasy sleeper going into this season who has lived up to the hype. With interceptions counting very little against quarterbacks, Jameis is able to make up for it with his high count of touchdowns which leads the league, and his high passing yards which also leads the league. Facing the Houston Texans who rank 30th against opposing fantasy quarterbacks. The Texans have allowed the 5th most passing yards, 5th most passing touchdowns, 9th highest yards per completion (11.1 yards), and the 10th highest yards per attempt (7.2 yards). Facing the Texans in week 16 provides a juicy matchup for the Buccaneers quarterback. Even without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin the Bucs still have weapons around Jameis line O.J. Howard, Ronald Jones, and Breshad Perriman to make him a valuable fantasy quarterback this week.

The little surprise quarterbacks at the top like Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson need little reason to start them. Jackson will be facing the Cleveland Browns in week 16, ranking 18th against opposing fantasy quarterbacks. The Browns who are barely alive at this point in the season, have been having a lot of issues recently. The Ravens lost to the Browns the last time they met, meaning the Ravens will be looking to make a statement in the AFC North this week. Deshaun Watson is another top quarterback option in week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs rank as the 26th best against opposing fantasy quarterbacks. Allowing the 3rd most passing yards, 6th most passing touchdowns, 6.7 yards per attempt (18th highest), and a yards per completion of 10.8 (12th highest). A great matchup for Watson lies ahead of him in week 16.

Streaming Quarterbacks:

These streaming quarterbacks are quarterbacks who are being under appreciated or are players who fantasy owners are afraid of playing this week. Rostered in under 66% of leagues, this group of QBs is led by Ryan Tannehill who has nothing short of fantastic this season since taking over for Marcus Mariota. Ranking as the 23rd best fantasy quarterback since coming in during week 6 of the season. Tannehill has been one of the most effective quarterbacks in the NFL. Tannehill will face the New Orleans Saints in week 16 who rank 21st best against opposing fantasy quarterbacks so far this season. The Saints have been a middle of the pack defense this season, allowing quarterbacks to keep up with the Saints offense. Being rostered in 63.0% of fantasy leagues, Tannehill just makes this group of quarterbacks. His ownership percentage will only increase as he continues to perform.

The next quarterback in this group is Ryan Fitzpatrick, being owned in just 15.7% of fantasy leagues. Fitzpatrick has been the most surprising fantasy asset this season, being an actually viable fantasy quarterback. With DeVante Parker back in the lineup, Fitzpatrick has his #1 target back in and this offense continues to roll. Facing the Cincinnati Bengals who rank 24th best against opposing fantasy quarterbacks this season. Allowing the 3rd highest yards per completion and the 3rd highest yards per attempt in the league. A great opportunity for Fitzpatrick to continue to air out the ball again makes him a great streaming option this week.

Quarterback Busts:

Tom Brady leads this group of quarterbacks. The NFL vet has been struggling recently and will face one of the best defenses in the league, their division rival Buffalo Bills. Brady failed to top even 175 passing yards over the past 2 weeks. A struggling offense does not look good facing one of the best defenses. The Bills have allowed the 3rd fewest passing yards, 3rd fewest passing touchdowns, 2nd lowest yards per completion, and the 3rd lowest yards per attempt this season. All signs pointing to yet another disappointing Brady performance in week 16.
