Crazy how quickly the NFL season comes and goes. Week 17 is upon us and we are ending another great fantasy season this week. Streaming tight ends throughout the season has been one of the most popular strategies unless you struck gold with Mark Andrews. With some leagues flowing through week 17 of the fantasy season some players will need to continue to be active on the waiver wire. Even through week 17 you can still find fantasy viable players. Looking through the matchups you will need to find to a player on a team that still has something to play for. Besides the obvious fantasy starts at the position including Zach Ertz, George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Darren Waller, below you will find the tight end options that will continue to produce through week 17. All statistics used in this article can be found on our website at lineups.com.

Tight End Options to Start:

Austin Hooper (ATL) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 95.0% Rostered

One of the surprise tight end assets of this fantasy season. Hooper has been a fantastic fantasy asset of the Falcons offense. In recent weeks Hooper has been struggling as of recently. Able to bounce back in week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, seeing 7 targets for 82 yards totaling 11.7 fantasy points. The Falcons will travel to Tampa Bay in wee 17, the 26th best defense against opposing fantasy tight ends this season. Ranking as the 6th best fantasy tight end on the season so far, Hooper’s’ involvement will likely continue against their division rival. With such a great matchup awaiting Hooper in week 17, he is a great start against a struggling Tampa Bay defense.

Dallas Goedert (PHI) vs New York Giants – 47.4% Rostered

One of the best values you could ask for in the tight end position. Dallas Goedert has established himself in this Philadelphia offense as one of its key pieces. Ranking as the 10th best tight end on the year is an impressive accomplishment for such a young tight end especially considering he is behind one of the best fantasy tight ends in the NFL being Zach Ertz. Facing the New York Giants in week 17 who rank the 15th against opposing fantasy tight ends. Goedert is one of Wentz’s favorite targets in this offense. Considering how little options there are in the offense. Goedert is the number 2 or 3 target in this offense. Zach Ertz is always a good play but Goedert is an amazing pick off of the waiver wire being rostered in less than half of the fantasy leagues. Goedert is an amazing play in week 17 of the fantasy season.

Tyler Higbee (LAR) vs Arizona Cardinals – 55.4% Rostered

Someone who many would consider to be a late bloomer in the fantasy season, Higbee has come on to being one of the Los Angeles Rams main targets in this offense. Averaging over 8 receptions per game over the past 4 games. Higbee has been a top receiving option in the Rams offense, seeing over 100 yards in the past 4 games this season. In week 17 the Rams will be facing the Arizona Cardinals who rank as the worst teams against opposing fantasy tight ends this season. Considering the amazing matchup in an offense where this tight end sees substantial targets, Higbee is a fantastic option to pick up off the waiver wire this week.

Tight End Options to Sit:

Mike Geisicki (MIA) vs New England Patriots – 25.9% Rostered

One of the late bloomers of the fantasy season and ranking as the 12th best fantasy tight end option. Being a somewhat touchdown dependent tight end on the fantasy tight end, Geisicki will face the New England Patriots in week 17. Ranking as the 7th best defense against opposing fantasy tight ends this season. Producing on a relatively low amount of receptions this season, Geisicki has seen just over 3 receptions over the past 3 weeks. Making Geisicki a risky starting option at best this week against the New England Patriots in week 17.

Jacob Hollister (SEA) vs San Francisco 49ers – 47.7% Rostered

Hollister filled in the for the fantasy tight end sensation Will Dissly after his season ending injury. After Dissly’s injury, Hollister was a solid option to use to secure yourself some guaranteed fantasy points. However, Hollister failed to produce in some solid matchups including against the LA Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Carolina Panthers. A worrisome sign heading into his week 17 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers defense which ranks 6th best against opposing fantasy tight ends. Hollister is best left on the waiver wire this week.

Jimmy Graham (GB) vs Detroit Lions – 48.8% Rostered

Ranking as the 22nd best tight end option on the fantasy season so far. There is little reason why Graham is rostered is such a high amount of fantasy leagues. Being an older tight end option in an offense that does not pass the ball as much as others. There are plenty of better tight end options out there for week 17. Facing the Detroit Lions in week 17 ranking as the 13th best team against opposing fantasy tight ends. You are better off letting go of Jimmy Graham in exchange of a tight end like Dallas Goedert for the week 17 Championship week.
