Name | Team | Opponent | Own % |
---|---|---|---|
Greg Zuerlein | Rams | Browns | 100 |
Justin Tucker | Ravens | Cardinals | 100 |
Harrison Butker | Chiefs | Ravens | 99 |
Wil Lutz | Saints | Seahawks | 97 |
Stephen Gostkowski | Patriots | Jets | 99 |
Joey Slye | Panthers | Panthers | 13 |
Brett Maher | Cowboys | Dolphins | 64 |
Matt Bryant | Falcons | Colts | 29 |
Robbie Gould | 49ers | Steelers | 70 |
Jake Elliott | Eagles | Lions | 59 |
Greg Zuerlein, Los Angeles Rams
Opponent: Cleveland Browns
The Rams’ kicker doesn’t get the nickname “Greg the Leg” for no reason. There is also a reason he is owned by a 100% of all fantasy leagues. Zuerlein is a weapon that the Rams’ are confident in using. Zuerlein has already had 6 field goal attempts through 2 games, knocking in 5 of them. Of those 5, he has gotten to show off the strength of his leg on a 56 yard boot as well. Head coach Sean McVay, highly regarded play designer, will always be able to produce a dangerous offense which means Zuerlein will always be scoring points in some fashion. After the Browns allowed 43 points to the Titans in week 1, I expect Zuerlein and the offense to be scoring early and often in this week’s matchup.
Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Opponent: Kansas City Chiefs
The Ravens’ longtime kicker looks to have another phenomenal season. He is 4 for 4 on field goal attempts this season, and has totaled 22 points through just 2 games. He has been utilized quite a lot, given the Ravens have scored 82 points in the young season. Tucker has made over 90% of his kicks in his 8 year career. He is as close to a sure thing as there is in the business.
Harrison Butker, Kansas City Chiefs
Opponent: Baltimore Ravens
The Chiefs’ kicker will always have immense fantasy value as long as he still kicks for Patrick Mahomes and that high octane offense. He is 4 for 4 on field goals, with a long of 46 yards in his 3rd year with Kansas City. The Chiefs’ offense is so eye-popping good, that you have to just cross your fingers they will kick at least a few field goals for Butker. Regardless, he will be a must start, he has a very high floor due to the success of the Kansas City offense.
Wil Lutz, New Orleans Saints
Opponent: Seattle Seahawks
The 4th year New Orleans Saints’ kicker has been kept busy early on in his 2019 campaign. Lutz’ has had 7 field goal attempts, and has connected on 6 of them. His only miss came beyond 50 yards. He kicks for an offense that just took a tough blow losing Drew Brees for at least 6 weeks. Luckily, their back up quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has NFL experience. We will have to wait and see how the offense looks, but I’d feel confident rolling with Lutz until shown otherwise.
Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
Opponent: New York Jets
The New England Patriots’ longtime kicker has been a staple in fantasy football for as many years as he has been in the league. Gostkowski is 5 for 6 on field goal attempts, with a long of 41 yards on the season. The Patriots are an absolute force on both sides of the ball. With the addition of Antonio Brown, the offense just got that much more dynamic. The Patriots face the Jets in week 3 without Jets’ starting quarterback Sam Darnold. The Patriots should control the game and score a lot of points in the process. Gostkowski will be a safe bet at home against the Jets.
Joey Slye, Carolina Panthers
Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
Rookie kicker Joey Slye, has been a pleasant surprise in fantasy football. Cam Newton and the Panthers have struggled to score touchdowns, resulting in a lot of opportunity for Slye to produce points. Through 2 games, Christian McCaffrey is the only player to score multiple touchdowns. Furthermore, there have only been 3 touchdowns scored from the Panthers as a team. The Cardinals have given up 5 field goals in 2019, Slye should add to that amount this weekend. Only being owned by 13% of leagues, he should be picked up by all teams that don’t have one of the kickers already mentioned.
Brett Maher, Dallas Cowboys
Opponent: Miami Dolphins
Second-year Dallas Cowboy kicker Brett Maher, has been used quite sparingly so far in the 2019 season. Luckily for fantasy owners, he has scored on all 9 of his extra point attempts. He gets a favorable matchup against the Dolphins, who have given up an astounding 102 points through just 2 games. Maher has a high floor in week 3 at home against Miami.
Matt Bryant, Atlanta Falcons
Opponent:Indianapolis Colts
The veteran kicker showed that he still had the leg in week 2. Bryant netted a 50+ field goal last weekend against the Eagles. The Falcons should be a productive offense with an awfully talented collection of weapons. The Falcons’ have a matchup against Indianapolis, who has given up 49 points through 2 weeks. I expect Matt Bryant to receive ample opportunity to have a respectable fantasy output in week 3.
Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers
Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers
The veteran kicker has gotten off to a solid start in 2019. Gould has had 7 field goal attempts, and connected on 5 of them. He has a long of 47 yards so far on the young season. The Niners’ offense is looking better and better every week. Concerns around Jimmy Garoppolo have quieted, which is all good news for Robbie Gould’s fantasy production. He should continue getting opportunities to score field goals in week 3, he is one of the most proven kickers on this list.
Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles
Opponent: Detroit Lions
The Philadelphia Eagles’ kicker has a favorable matchup against the Lions in week 3. The Lions have allowed 7 field goal attempts in just the first 2 games. Elliott is kicking 100% on the season, which include 3 field goals and 3 extra points. He should expect more work this weekend at home against the Lions.
