The tight end position took a hit this week as Will Dissly will miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury. This is a blow to fantasy teams as he has been a surprise performer, but the market is also extremely dry due to a lackluster scoring position this season. Evan Engram is questionable for this week, but is trending in the right direction to play against the Cardinals. Arizona has allowed the most fantasy points per game. Greg Olsen and OJ Howard are two bigger names on bye this week, although Howard would score exactly the same as if he was playing. To win those fantasy football leagues, you are going to have to win the waiver wire as well. You can find the top tight ends to pick up by rank for this upcoming week.

Hunter Henry – Los Angeles Chargers
Hunter Henry is the first priority tight end option to grab if he is still out there. Obviously this is a name for the home leagues and shallower leagues where Henry was expendable. He played 41 snaps in Week 6, which was supposed to be a limited snap week. It was a great game script for him as the Chargers found themselves down a few touchdowns early, but Henry was tied for the most snaps in Week 6 with Zach Ertz sitting at nine. Henry is easily the top priority of this group, and will be involved in the passing game heavily moving forward.
TJ Hockenson – Detroit Lions
TJ Hockenson is still a name to look at, seeing an average of 4.8 targets per week. He has a pedestrian 58% catch rate, but is playing a healthy dose of snaps. Out of the waiver wire options, Hockenson is one of the few viable names to use. He had six targets in this last week, and had a few red zone looks as well. Hockenson will get a somewhat favorable schedule over the next few weeks, and with byes setting in heavily, you are going to have to dive down quite a bit.
Gerald Everett – Los Angeles Rams
Over the last three weeks, Gerald Everett has 8, 11, and 5 target games. He has caught 65% of the balls thrown his way, and the Rams are throwing at the 5th highest rate in the league right now. On those targets he has 38.9 PPR points, which goes for the fourth highest in that span. The plus side for Everett the rest of the year is he gets Arizona twice, but Seattle and Pittsburgh are also bottom five in fantasy points allowed to tight ends. There are a lot of great matchups.
Jason Witten – Dallas Cowboys
Jason Witten is averaging 9.5 PPR points per game this season, and is top ten in tight end scoring. Yes those are legitimate facts for Witten. He is catching 81% of passes thrown his way, and has seen at least four targets in each week, and saw a season high in Week 6 against the Jets, tacking on seven targets. Witten is also playing over 70% of snaps.
Chris Herndon – New York Jets
Chris Herndon on the waiver wire sputtered a bit as the hamstring injury he picked up last week made him not viable. I am going to go back and look at Herndon as a pick up. Herndon and the rest of the Jets have an extremely soft schedule over the rest of the season. Herndon finished as TE16 over last season, where most of his production came in the second half.
