It is an extremely top heavy quarterback week that could get worse if Matt Ryan is out and Drew Brees ends up not playing. Let us work our way up instead, as there are some tough matchups for guys who have been doing well. Kyle Allen is going to run into one of the toughest matchups he will face all season, as San Francisco continue to batter any offense that steps in front of them. Philip Rivers has been fine from a fantasy standpoint, but the road gets tougher this week with another offensive lineman down, and a road game against Chicago. Carson Wentz is coming off one of his worst games, and will take on Buffalo, who have allowed the fourth fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. However, names like Ryan Tannehill and Derek Carr get a bump this week because of their matchups.

As for the top names, Oakland was just shredded by Aaron Rodgers, and will have to take on Houston now. Deshaun Watson checks in as the number one quarterback this week. Russell Wilson isn’t too far behind, as the Atlanta secondary has allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season. Jared Goff is also in a good spot against a Bengals defense.

Give me some Dalvin Cook again this week, getting the Redskins who have allowing over 750 rushing yards already this season. Cook is in a great home matchup where the Vikings should be in control of this game to give him his 20 touches and let him put in work. Saquon Barkley was back last week, and while he looked less than 100%, he has a favorable matchup against the Lions, who have allowed the third most fantasy points per game to opposing backs this season. Leonard Fournette had a typical game where he rushed for over 120 yards, but still failed to find the end zone. The Jets have allowed eight rushing touchdowns this season. James Conner and Todd Gurley have been up and down this year, but are in great spots against two of the poorer defenses in the league.

DeAndre Hopkins was able to get right last week against Indy, and draws a better matchup against Oakland this week. Last week’s numbers inflated their fantasy points allowed, but this is just a bottom ten secondary to target anyway. A lot of lesser receiving cores will get bumps this week. Tampa Bay has allowed the third most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts, making the Titans dart throw options for Week 8. Both John Brown and Cole Beasley are viable options against an Eagles secondary that has allowed a 92-1383-11 line to wide receivers this season. Oakland’s wideouts have been barely usable, but if Tyrell Williams can come back from injury, I like his chances at a another touchdown this week.

This position has been dreadful for fantasy this season, but we have some names back and a short bye week for teams. Darren Waller is going to be in comeback mode, and checks in as the top PPR tight end. Travis Kelce follows, as the Packers have allowed the 8th most fantasy points per game to tight ends, and even without Mahomes he is going to be a strong option. The Bears are not as daunting of a matchup for Hunter Henry as you’d might think, they are middle of the road against tight ends, allowing the 13th most fantasy points per game. Seattle has been bad against tight ends this season, allowing 474 receiving yards. It would have been more if Mark Andrews could hold onto the football, but Austin Hooper checks in as another strong option this week.

Teams allowing the most field goal attempts this season are Cincinnati, Denver, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles Rams, and Baltimore. Detroit, Arizona, Houston, and Philadelphia are a few other teams worth targeting with kickers, as they give up a lot of volume. Teams that give up the least amount of volume are New England, New Orleans, San Francisco, Oakland, and Minnesota.

New England and log out. It isn’t even fair, and they get to take on Baker Mayfield and a Cleveland offense that has been horrific most weeks. Minnesota is also up on top taking on Washington at home. It is a good week for most of the top defenses, as San Francisco will welcome Carolina and showcase their defense against Christian McCaffrey. The Rams take on Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh can continue their hot defensive play against Miami..
