Who to Drop:
RB Frank Gore (BUF) – 60.9% Rostered
Gore has lost the starting spot to rookie running-back Devin Singletary, seeing 29% of snaps during week 8 and 34% during week 9. He saw 11 carries for 15 yards in week 9, including 3 straight goal-line attempts, failing to punch it in. The veteran running-back is on the decline and will be overtaken by the rookie. The Bills are looking forward with their roster, and so should you. Gore is safe drop candidate to the waiver wire for a better option.
RB LeSean McCoy (KC) – 80.9% Rostered
Losing a majority of snaps to Damien Williams. McCoy hasn’t seen 50% of snaps since week 6 when he was the only back to see the field. He saw just 10% of snaps during week 9. Damien Williams has seemingly overtaken that backfield again, seeing 42% of snaps during week 8 and 72% of snaps during week 9. McCoy has seen 12 carries for 49 yards over the past 2 weeks, failing to reach the end-zone since week 4. McCoy is a drop candidate to the waiver wire in exchange for a better option.
QB Gardner Minshew (JAX) – 65% Rostered
With Nick Foles returning from his collar bone injury he suffered in week 1, Minshew has been bench for the veteran after a poor performance against the Texans. He threw 27 for 309 yards, not touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Completing just 57% of his passes and fumbling twice against the Texans defense. It was one of his worst performances of the year. Minshew is on the first year of his rookie contract and the Jags went out and spent big on Nick Foles. The Jaguars will want to see what they paid for with Foles, announcing Foles will be the starter in week 10 on Tuesday. Likely not the last time we see Minshew on the field, just not this year.
Who to Pick Up:
RB Ronald Jones II (TB) vs. ARI – 38.1% Rostered
A true starting running-back has finally been announced in Tampa Bay. Head Coach Bruce Arian came out on Monday saying Jones will be the starting running-back moving forward. The former second-round pick saw 53% of snaps during week 9, and for the first time all season played the first snap of the game. He saw 18 carries for 67 yards, averaging 3.7 yards per carry, and scored a touchdown. Also seeing some of the passing game, catching 2 balls for 15 yards. Jones tallied his highest fantasy total all year, scoring 15.2 points in 0.5 PPR formats. The murky running-back situation in Tampa Bay has finally cleared up. Jones should be your priority pick-up off of the waiver wire this week.
WR DeVante Parker (MIA) vs. IND – 22.9% Rostered
DeVante Parker led all Miami Dolphins wide receivers in snaps during their week 9 win against the Jets. Parker saw 6 targets, catching 4 for 57 yards and 1 touchdown, averaging 14.2 yards per reception. Parker has been QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s favorite target in this offense throughout this season. The Dolphins also lost their wide receiver Preston Williams to a season-ending ACL injury. With this unfortunate injury, Parker will be expected to be getting even more targets and receptions. The Dolphins will face the Indianapolis Colts in week 9. The Colts are middle of the pack so far this season against fantasy wide receivers. Parker is the only player on the Dolphins worth playing this week against the Colts. Parker is in consideration for a flex spot this week against the Colts and should be picked up from the waiver wire.
WR Zach Pascal (IND) vs MIA – 6.8% Rostered
Playing at least 92% of snaps during the past 2 games, 94% of snaps during week 9. Pascal saw 6 targets, catching 5 for 76 yards and a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 9. Continuing his production even after the Brissett injury. The former Old Dominion receiver who was undrafted in 2017 will be stepping into the number 1 receiving role. T.Y. Hilton suffered a calf injury that will sideline him for an expected 3-4 weeks during practice last week. Pascal averaged 15.2 yards per reception last week with backup Brian Hoyer. Facing Miami during week 10, Miami has allowed the 3rd most yards per completion along with the 3rd most passing touchdowns this season. Pascal is a great pickup going forward with a lot of upside.
