Running backs are making a return to the glory days, and the same goes for those bell cow backs. Volume, volume, volume is the key to fantasy production from running backs, and rushing attempts per game is where we want to look for that, in addition to receptions and targets. Stats such yards per attempt will help measure efficiency for backs, to take it one step further. Offensive snaps are a bit more important for the skill positions not named quarterback, as they indicate the workloads for multiple players on a depth chart. Search season long snaps, or filter it down to just a last few games. Pass-catching backs have blossomed the last few seasons, and essentially becoming secondary wide receivers we need to focus in on their workload with targets and production. Find the backs seeing 5+ targets per game, and don’t be surprised if you see a handful of them.
