11-5, 2nd AFC North
The Cleveland Browns had one of the better offseasons as they made a splash in free agency with Austin Hooper. This wasn’t a clear need but it does give Baker Mayfield another weapon in the offense. Cleveland also sured up their offensive line with Jack Conklin and then drafting Jedrick Wills in the first round. They also got great value in Grant Delpit who is another young secondary member. Losing Joe Schobert and Christian Kirksey might be an issue. The same receiving core and set of running backs will be back for Cleveland as there will be no excuses again for a down year.

The Browns received a ton of hype from the media and fans alike, but the team struggled mightily under first-time head coach Freddie Kitchens. Cleveland finished last season with a 6-10 record with just the 22nd-most points scored and the 12th-most points against. The Browns will have an entirely new coaching staff in 2020, though, as first-year head coach Kevin Stefanski will look to lead the Browns to realize some of the high expectations they carried into last season. There's still plenty of talent all over this roster as Myles Garrett is one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL and a favorite for Comeback Player of the Year. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are perhaps the best running back tandem in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are a highly capable wide receiver pairing, and Austin Hooper and David Njoku will give the Browns plenty of pass-catching juice when they play out of 12 personnel. The additions of Jack Conklin (free agency) and Jedrick Wills (draft) as bookend tackles should help Baker Mayfield stay upright and get back to playing at the level that made him one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the league.
Heading into the 2020-21 season, the Browns' highest-paid player is defensive end Olivier Vernon - he carries a cap hit of $15.5 million. The trio of Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, and Sheldon Richardson all have a cap hit of $13+ million as well.
The Browns' current owner is Jimmy Haslam. In 2012, he reached an agreement with prior Browns' owner Randy Lerner for a $1 billion purchase price. Haslam previously held a minority interest in the Pittsburgh Steelers but was forced to sell when he acquired the Browns.
Kevin Stefanski is entering his first season as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. In 2019, he was the offensive coordinator of the Vikings and led the 8th-best scoring offense. He has never served as a head coach and has limited experience, but he is well-regarded around the NFL.
The Browns currently have the most cap space in the NFL at over $37.2 million. There are still some highly talented NFL free agents including Jadaveon Clowney, Everson Griffen, Larry Warford, Logan Ryan, Jason Peters, Eric Reid, and Mike Daniels who could provide real value for this team this season.
Kevin Stefanski does not have a long career of NFL coaching to project off of, but if his one season as the Vikings' offensive coordinator is any indication, he favors a high number of rushing attempts. The Vikings had the 4th-most rushing attempts in the NFL last season.
The Browns drafted a handful of players who are 21 years old including first-round tackle Jedrick Wills out of Alabama, 2nd-round safety Grant Delpit out of LSU, 3rd-round linebacker Jacob Phillips out of LSU, 5th-round center Nick Harris out of Washington, and 6th-round wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones out of
There are currently three players on the Browns' roster who are 32 years old and none of them figure to be starters in 2020 - FS Andrew Sendejo, DE Adrian Clayborn, and QB Case Keenum. Sheldon Richardson (DT), Olivier Vernon (DE), and JC Tretter (C) are the team's oldest starters at 32 years old.
Cleveland has a wealth of sports history. From the southern shores of Lake Erie, some of the greatest legends in professional sports have made their mark. The Cleveland Browns have produced their fair share of Cleveland sports legends. Cleveland also claims one of the more notorious team exits in sports history. However, whether you're talking about the old Browns or the new Browns, Cleveland loves their football team. Since Cleveland was granted a new franchise after the old Browns vacated for Baltimore, they have yet to reach the same level of success. The Browns were one of the most consistent championship teams across the late 1950s into the 1960s. They were led by a legendary namesake. Jim Brown is arguably the greatest running back in NFL history. Nevertheless, Cleveland Browns fans have endured their level of heartache as well. Cleveland is known as the place where "The Drive" took place. One year later, in 1987, another infamous storyline is now known to Browns' fans as "The Fumble". Twice in back-to-back seasons, Cleveland football fans missed out on a trip to the ultimate game in professional football. Each new season, Browns' fans still step up and support their team in hopes this will be the season Cleveland earns a trip to their first-ever Super Bowl.
Ohio's legislation pushed through House Bill 194 that paved the way for legal
