Early Season Takeaways (Inside The Cylinder Podcast)

In this week’s episode, we discuss the Pistons injury riddled start to the 2019-20 season. We’ll also discuss six positive, and a couple negative takeaways that we’ve noticed so far. Some of the positives include the following.

Langston Galloway and Svi Mykhailiuk have been scorching from three point territory, and Galloway is getting to the line more regularly. Detroit desperately needs more outside shooting and these two are producing. Will this trend continue once Blake Griffin returns?

Bruce Brown has been thrusted into the starting lineup – this time as point guard. He’s shown an impressive passing ability and provides a new wrinkle to his game, and the offense for the Pistons. Can Bruce keep this up, and possibly be relied on as a point guard moving forward?

Christian Wood was the last man to make this roster – he’s been ballin’ in limited minutes. It looks like Detroit finally found a real player, who was on the fringe of the NBA last year.

Andre Drummond has been putting up DOMINANT stats to start this year. He’s made great strides on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. While we can’t expect him to continue to average 21 points and 19 rebounds for the entire year, it’s clear that this dominant form of Drummond is here to stay.

Luke Kennard has the green light, and it’s paying off. He’s posting career highs in points, three point percentage and shot attempts, now how will he play once Griffin returns?

2:15 – schedule recap
5:20 – injury updates
11:00 – six positive takeaways (Langston Galloway, Luke Kennard, Andre Drummond and more!)
45:25 – negative takeaways

All that and more in this week’s episode!
