Welcome back to another edition of the Drive and Dish NBA podcast, hosted by Justin Cousart (@JustinContheAir) & Kevin Rafuse (@rafusetolose). It’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday and the guys first talk any purchases they’ve regretted over the years and introduce Justin’s new microphone that he bought.
The guys then get into a quarter season review, first for the Eastern conference, as the guys fill in the blanks for each team. We start with the eight playoff teams. Justin explains why he thinks the Bucks are the favorite to win the title right now. Kevin argues why Toronto needs to keep Marc Gasol if they’re serious about making another run this year (Hint: Joel Embiid).
The guys discuss if Miami’s hot start is sustainable, and why they’ll really be tested over the next couple of weeks. For the Sixers it’s about gelling, while for the Pacers, it’s just about staying afloat until Vic comes back.
The guys also sort thru all the injuries with Brooklyn and Orlando. Justin & Kevin then take a break and get into Who’s Ballin Who’s Fallin. Topics include James Harden’s insane start & NBA strength of schedule. The guys then resume with the 8 non-playoff teams. Kevin apologizes to Charlotte, while both guys discuss why they’re pleasantly surprised by the Wizards.
The guys then end with a swathe of bottom squads, including why Detroit isn’t a fun watch, why Cleveland has reasons to watch, how Chicago & Atlanta can stop underachieving and of course a laugh at the Knicks.
The guys end the show with Hot Takes from Reddit, including whether the Coach’s Challenge is actually doing anything at this point. Subscribe to the podcast and leave a review on iTunes and we’ll read it on the show. You also can listen on Google Play, Spotify, PlayerFM, TuneIn & Spreaker. Watch the podcast on YouTube.
