The NFL kicks off on Wednesday evening with a Super Bowl LX rematch between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. Seattle begins its title defense in front of its home fans at Lumen Field, while the Patriots seek revenge against the team that stopped them from winning an NFL-record seventh Super Bowl.

The Seahawks will, of course, be without Super Bowl 60 MVP Kenneth Walker III, who joined the Kansas City Chiefs during free agency in the offseason. Instead, rookie running back Jadarian Price makes his NFL debut and will look to run the ball as effectively as Walker did when these teams last met.

Jadarian Price, SS/RB $13,800(MVP)/$9,200
The Seahawks will ride the talented rookie out of Notre Dame as the RB1, with veteran Zach Charbonnet starting the season on the PUP list. Price can immediately expect to carry the ball 20-30 times in his NFL debut, and based on what we know about him, he is more than capable of handling and excelling with this workload. The 22-year-old averaged a whopping 6.0 yards per carry during his time with the Fighting Irish, scoring 27 total touchdowns throughout his collegiate career.
There’s no denying the Seahawks have found yet another dynamic offensive weapon with Price, but a breakout game in his NFL debut on primetime is no sure thing. The Patriots finished the season with a top-10 rushing defense, yet Walker and the Seahawks exploited it on that side of the ball with the two-tight-end set we saw for much of the game. Walker excelled at running inside gaps and creating missed tackles, and Price is very similar. The rookie averaged 4.13 yards after contact in college, more than any other RB selected in the draft.
Seattle Seahawks Defense, SS/D $6,800
The 2025/2026 Seahawks became yet another example of the classic cliché “defense wins championships.” Mike Macdonald’s squad led the league in several categories on that side of the ball, most notably allowing just 17.2 PPG to opponents. They allowed just 13 points in the big game to Drake Maye and the Patriots offense, creating three turnovers and scoring a touchdown via a pick-six. Many of New England’s positive plays came once the game was already out of reach, thanks to how well the team performed during the first three quarters.
Although Seattle will be without that game’s MVP on Wednesday, much of the core defensive unit remained intact after the championship. Safety Coby Bryant was the lone starter to leave in free agency, along with Riq Woolen, another rotational defensive back also departing. Even so, the Seahawks can still play their smothering, pressure-heavy style and should have no problem shutting down the Patriots offense again.
Sam Darnold, SS/QB $11,600
Sam Darnold has revitalized his career and fits perfectly in this Seattle squad because of his efficient, mistake-free play. Because Walker rushed so effectively in the Super Bowl, Darnold was used primarily as a game manager and played his role perfectly. He finished 19/38 with 202 yards and a TD in that game, and could be let loose more in the season opener on Wednesday evening. Darnold and the Seahawks will not be as conservative playing their first regular-season game, and we could see more volume in the passing game should the rookie RB Price struggle to start the game.
Seattle has more than capable targets on the outside, and last season we saw Darnold sling the ball and attack defenses laterally in many moments. He finished last season with over 4,000 yards and a 99.1 passer rating. While the Super Bowl wasn’t a “bad game” per se, the Seahawks held back another dimension of Darnold’s game because of the game’s rhythm and how well the defense stopped everything the Patriots attempted.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, SS/WR $13,000
Jaxon Smith-Njigba comes in as the most expensive player for Wednesday night’s game, and with good reason. The former Ohio State wideout has solidified himself as one of the top WRs in the league, and a career year in 2025 cemented that. JSN finished the season with 119 receptions for a league-leading 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns. His breakout year landed him a huge contract extension in the offseason, and the 24-year-old will now be eager to justify the heavy price tag this season.
He will have a tough matchup on Wednesday, lining up primarily against All-Pro CB Christian Gonzalez. We got to see this matchup play out in the Super Bowl, with JSN catching just four of his 10 targets for 27 yards. It was clear the defense’s game plan and focus were on JSN, and they did their job well, taking him out of most offensive drives. As we mentioned in our Darnold pick, that’s not to say the same will be done in Wednesday’s opener. While the Patriots can pat themselves on the back for slowing down one of the league’s best WRs, ultimately it still came in a loss, and repeating the same game plan makes little to no sense.
Jason Meyers, SS/K $6,400
Jason Meyers solidified himself as one of the league’s best kickers during his highly efficient 2025 season. He finished the year knocking down 41 of 48 field goals, including 9 of 12 from 50+ yards out. Meyers also finished a perfect 100% on 48 extra points and topped the year off with a record-breaking performance in the championship.
Meyers benefited all year from Seattle’s offense stalling out in the opponent’s territory, and we saw that more than ever in Super Bowl 60. The 35-year-old finished 5/5 on FG attempts and 2/2 on extra points, accounting for 17 of Seattle’s 29 points in the game. The defense consistently rewarding the offense with solid field position ultimately plays to Meyers’ advantage and will again in the season opener.
Romeo Doubs, NEP/WR $8,200
The Patriots rewarded Maye with a new WR room featuring AJ Brown and former Green Bay wideout Romeo Doubs. The 26-year-old will serve as one of Maye’s primary targets and could find some soft spots in Seattle’s defense with Brown requiring so much attention. Doubs and the Patriots offense will look to be aggressive in the opener and may need to rely on the passing game with Treyveon Henderson ruled out for Wednesday’s game.
Doubs looked comfortable during training camp playing alongside his new QB, but did not feature in any of New England’s preseason games. All reports coming out of camp seem to suggest Maye and Doubs already have some solid chemistry built, and we could see that in-game for the first time on Wednesday.
